Up for auction is this 1974 FJ40 great as a DIY project . This is an excellent running and driving FJ with some cool stuff that you just don't see often, some of it you never see. It has some rust areas, nothing major, easy fix, on the lower door corners and just below the ambulance doors on the back. The best thing that this one has is a complete Vintage Frigiking Air Conditioning unit. It appears to have been dealer installed when the truck was new. The evaporator unit is under the seat, the compressor is there, all hoses, condenser, controls, everything. It has 91K original miles as far as we know. It has 2F, six cylinder engine. 4-speed transmission and it has an aftermarket 3rd shifter on the transfer case that allows it to be driven in 2 wheel low. It also has vintage Warn Lock O Matic hubs. This FJ runs good, drives good and could be used as a daily driver or fully restored to make a very unique FJ. It has been repainted, twice, originally it was dune beige, then it was painted Nordic Blue, and now it's painted Sky Blue. We don’t see any signs of accident damage. All of the body panels seem original except for the roof, which is from a newer cruiser. It has a homemade looking brush guard and a hitch plate on the back bumper. All of the lights work, the glass is nice but two of them on the top are Plexiglas. The tires have a lot of tread left. Interior appears to be mostly original. Has diamond plate rubber floor mats. Door panels and dash are nice, the steering wheel and seat belts are nearly mint. All of the controls on the dash work right. Runs and drives great, everything works. Sometimes one of the transfer case lever jumps in to reverse. It has an electric cooling fan. The front end is tight, brakes work good. Has a tiny leak on the transfer case. The original owner's manual, original Kotito headlights, original cooling fan, and a bunch of other stuff are included. I also have a brand new set of Toyota OEM hubcaps. This is a great candidate for a DIY project or if you are too busy to work on it, just let us restore it for you! You won't regret it.
