Vehicle Detail
Here is a wonderful opportunity for a BARGAIN PRICED 1800ES that will need nothing to be your daily driver or collectible weekend fun car. I have thoroughly enjoyed this car and it is the third 1800ES I have owned. It was originally an Arizona Car and came to me through a search for air conditioning parts for another ES. The car had been completely repainted but had a very tired interior and had been in storage for several years. The most important thing I wanted was a nice ES to drive, with good air conditioning without losing the period correct look of the original. We spent a silly amount of money acheiving this, by replacing everythinbg from the blower unit inside the car forward to the front of the car. It is a Sanden type rotary compressor with 134a and blows ice cold. All new hoses, condenser, dryer, etc. Having acheived this goal I went about freshening up things on the car. The low mileage may be correct and I have taken pictures of the floors to show how solid they are. We needed to fit a carpet kit although much of the original blue factory carpet is good and will be included with the car. The drivers floor original carpet is excellent and remains, with the new carpet kit simply laid over it (see photos). The rest of the kit was professionally fitted. The front seats are vinyl but all the interior is in nice condition, although there have been holes in the front door panels made for speakers. The headliners was replaced also and a nice set of near perfect sunvisors and their new retention clips is included with the car. The car also received a brand new windshield, however the chrome trim has not been fitted as it was missing but I purchased a nice used one which comes with the car. There are dash caps over both the origional dash sections which look fine, and the car presents very well. The clock doesnt run, but the rest of the gauges work, except the speedo needs a cable (included) and tach is a bit jumpy. The car runs like a dream, and has good oil pressure and no oil consumption or smoke. The gearbox shifts nicely with crisp overdrive action and thelight comes on when engaged. I put all new shocks on the car this month, and a new clutch cable. The car is reliable, comfortable and a joy to drive. It shows evidence of some body work prior to the repaint on the right front but it looks good and appears to have had the hood replaced. I see some evidence of rocker repair or replacement, and some possible corrosion in the bottom os the doors but nothing serious and I wish to just disclose. This car is very solid and can be enjoyed, driven, and upgraded furthwer as and when you wish. These have been commanding some wild prices so here is a chance to buy one at a very reasonable price. The Volvo radio works nicely and has a hidden antenna under the dash. Spare and jack are present and the sending unit for the fuel tank was just replaced. Clear California title, and sold otherwise as-is but just a nice, happy car to enjoy that needs a new home as I am running out of space for all my wonderful cars and have inherited another collector car with good A/C. Someone will enjoy driving and owning this car, while taking your time to imnprove it some more. Please ask any and all questions. Inspection wlecome during the auction, not after as the high bidder wins this car and should be thrilled with it. Not a show car, but a nice driver at a great low price set by the bidders. Good Luck.
