Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 1961 Ford Thunderbird. Very low reserve........ I purchased this car about two and a half years ago with the intention of restoring it. I work, have small kids and a long list of to do's from my wife so my time is very limited. I have a small collection of three other classic cars to restore as well as our daily drivers, a boat and an rv that I maintain. I don't have room to store this car any longer or the time to work on it. This is a restorable car and I don't have the heart to make it weather the upcoming winter. On nice days in the spring and summer I take the car out for drive and to work sometimes, always get compliments and thumbs up. The motor runs very strong. (Does not smoke and starts right up) Lights and signals are all funtional. Gauges are all funtional. Breaks and tires are in good condition. No dents in the body or bumpers. There could be ding or 2 in the body somewhere but I have not seen any at this time. The longest trip I have taken in this car is about 300 miles over Washington state's highest pass. The car ran stong and smooth at speeds of 70 - 90 mile an hour on the highway. It has tiltaway steering, the driver's seat is power and has power steering. If you decide to bid on this car please remember that it is 51 years old and is not in showroom condition, but would not take much to restore. The bad: the paint in some areas has some spider cracks and in 4 -5 small areas where there is some sand and primer to prevent rust. There is a small rust hole in the front passenger side floorboard pan and it is about 4 inches in diameter. The transmission has a slow leak between the pan and tranny most likely the gasket. I have only had to put in a half quart of trans-oil in the 2.5 years I have owned it. The interior need some work but it's all there. The seats have some cracking and a couple of tears, the door panels are all good, the interior chrome is clean. Thank you for viewing this listing, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Happy bidding
