Vehicle Detail

1981 Suzuki 850 GS shaft drive in good condition with low mileage, 15,565. A clean bike that needs a liitle more work to make it right. It starts and idles good but boggs down when you try to accelerate. I put new carb kits in and that helped a little but still not right. If you blow some carb cleaner behind the carbs while you accelerate it then it sounds good and revs right up. The diaphragms looked good and the carbs are clean but something is not right. The bike is all original, seat is great with no tears and it sat in the previous owners garage for the last 4 years. I have a clean title signed by the previous owner. There are some minor scratches on the tank but other than that it looks fine. I have new emblems for the side of the cases so I could polish the cases and replace the emblems but I will leave that to the new owner now. I still have the old parts and remaining parts from the carb kits. Don't know if messed up when I put the kits in or if there is another reason for it not to get enough fuel upon acceleration. Should be an easy fix for someone that knows what the're doing. I need fewer projects and more garage space. Sounds good when you do rev it up though. No guarantees or warranties. What you see is what you get. No Reserve. Email with any questions. Thanks for looking. I've had a couple of questions on the bike that I wanted to answer. The tires are Dunlop Elites and appear to have about 50% tread left, in good condition. All the electrics work including the fuel gauge. There is no signifigant rust on the exhaust system. The bike is missing 2 cam covers on the engine 1 on each side. They were not there when I bought the bike and they do not leak oil when running. When I bought the carb kits and case emblems from reto-motorcycles on ebay, they also had a new set of all 4 cam covers for $89.95 that I just haven't purchased yet. I will try to remember to post future questions as they occur. Thanks.
