Up for sale with NO RESERVE!!! from Jingletown Records home of the multi platinum rock band Green Day is a FULL CUSTOM VAN that was supposedly built for the LEGENDARY FUNK BASS PLAYER BOOTSY COLLINS! This van has a CUSTOM EMBROIDERED "BC" MONOGRAM throughout with the name of the van being the BAY STRIP! The BAY STRIP van was built into a CUSTOM VAN after being purchased BRAND NEW in 1976 so it was NEVER USED AS ANYTHING ELSE but a FULL CUSTOM! Imagine the cost of building something this OUTRAGEOUS in today's money, we're talking probably close to $100,000!! NO EXPENSE WAS SPARED BUILDING THIS VAN as you can see! From it's FULL CUSTOM BLUE METALLIC PAINT JOB with a SUPERBLY DETAILED FULL MURAL depicting the Old Las Vegas Rat Pack and San Francisco Bay Area Skyline of yesteryear. The van has FULL CUSTOM BODY MODIFICATIONS that include flared fenders, custom fins with frenched tail lamps, custom chromed wrought iron grill, hood scoop, chrome lake pipes, and continental kit that retains a full sized spare tire, chromed cowl area and spot lights. Step into the inside and you will find all the amenities one can imagine out of a FULL CUSTOM SHAGGIN' WAGON from it's full Wet Bar, Sink, Refrigerator, Alcohol Dispenser, TV Turntable, Shag Carpet, Swivel Captain Chairs, CB Radio, Custom Lighting, Curtains, Safe, Full Bed, Love Tunnel, Mirrored Ceilings, Custom Matching Cups, Custom Matching Ashtray and Fluid Lighter, Custom Seating, Custom Stereo/ 8 Track Player/ EQ, Air Conditioning, The list go on and on... This van has been used in a music video as seen in link below, also used for an art exhibition in San Francisco. This van has LOW MILEAGE for it's age, under 113,000 miles. The van STARTS RIGHT UP and SOUNDS AMAZING!! It has a small block 318 V8 with an automatic transmission that SHIFTS GREAT! There is an exhaust leak do to some small holes in the lake pipes but still SOUNDS AWESOME! The van can probably use a full tune up and everything gone through since it has been used very minimally with in the last 20 years. The van is currently registered as non-op in California with NO BACK FEES DUE! The van can use a set of new tires since the ones that are on there are old BF/Goodwrich from the 90's mouted on chrome wagon wheels. The brakes are power and stop nice, brakes are just a little mushy but still do the job. The headlights, high beams, running lights, turn signals and tail lights work, the brake lights don't. THE BODY IS 100% RUST FREE AND VERY STRAIGHT!! The paint does have it's share of scratches and knicks along with it's clear coat peeling in various spots throughout. The fender flares are in nice shape with the exception of the rear passenger being broken off from a blow out. It does however come with the broken off piece that can be graphed back on. All the glass and rubber are in great shape! The side view mirrors are missing the glass. The CB, strobe lights, power windows and dash lights are not working, probably a fuse since they were working up until one day about a year ago. The soda/alcohol dispenser does not work but or i'm not exactly sure how to work it. I think the fridge and bar area gadgets work off the same power and I believe you have to run the auxiliary battery located in the rear under the bed area is my guess. The window on the passenger door is off the track. The sun roof does leak water and has rusted some of the buttons on the custom pleated velour upholstery. All in all this is a SUPER RARE CUSTOM VAN BEING SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS BUILD AND A TRUE SURVIVOR!! You will find other custom built vans from the 70's for sale but I guarantee you will not find another like this!!! We are making room around the studio and as much as we hate to see it go it's time for a new home since it is not being used and will not be used laying around here. We do start her up a few times a month and drive it around the parking lot to keep the fluids moving. Just register the van and enjoy it as is or would be perfect for a full restoration of it's former glory!
