Up for auction today is My 1979 VW Rabbit Diesel. I have owned this car now for about a year but never drive it. It is a nice car with a lot of work done to it. The engine was rebuilt from the ground up about 4k miles ago. Injection pump is rebuilt and ready for biodiesel. Injectors are also rebuilt to use biodiesel. Brakes, and shocks have all been replaced. Transmission has been rebuilt about 10k ago. New clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. The list goes on. I drove this car to San Diego CA, to Phoenix AZ, to Las Vagas NV, and back home to Oregon with no problems at all, and got about 45+ MPG all the way. This is a great car and drives out nice. It is a little older so it is not perfect looking but is mechanically sound. I will be listing all the goods and the bads. I will do the good first. 1. Rebuilt engine 4k ago. 2. Rebuilt injection pump 4k ago. Now ready for biodiesel. 3. New clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel 4k ago. 4. Transmission rebuilt 10k ago. 5. New biodiesel injector nozzles. Injectors pop tested and are +-.01 mic. 6. New front and rear brakes 4k abo 7. New front struts 4k ago. Rear new 15k ago. 8. New windshield and rubber on order. New windshield will be installed before end of auction. 9. New battery. 10. New water pump. 11. New timing belt. 12. All 4 tires are at 80% or better. 13. All electrical works good. 14. All windows open, and close nice. 15. Has wing windows that work great and seal nice. 16. Car is 99% rust free. 17. Car looks to not leak water inside. 18. Has nice GTi five spoke wheels 19. Sunroof works great. Now for the bad.. 1. Paint on the car is not that good. Has small spots of surface rust on the top. 2. Dash has lots cracks on top from the sun. 3. Headliner has one small rip in the real, and the sunroof part is ripped and durty. 4. Interior looks good for it age but is not perfect. 5. Exhaust should be good for another 40k. 6. Missing one wheel cap on right reat wheel. 7. Car has the normal dents here and there but nothing real big. I have tried to do the best and most honest accounting on this car I know how. I may have mist something but if I did it would be very small. This is a great car and has many more years of life in it. I feel this car is reliable enough to taker it on a 5k mile trip with no problems. If you win this auction and want to ship the car I can drop it off with in 30 miles of 97071. If you want to fly inand drive the car home I can pick you up at Portland OR airport and take you to the car. I can work with you. I am entertaining offers on the car so make one if you have one. I am told that the mileage on car is 89k original not 189k or higher. Motor was rebuilt because last owner broke the timing belt.
