This car has had long term ownership and I purchased this car from a friend of mine who owned it for 22 years and the man he got it from had it 44 years who had purchased the car from the original family. The nice thing on this Model T is that all the sheet metal and parts on this car with the exception of the running boards are the original factory parts that this car started life out with. The body fenders and turtle deck are strait as an arrow with no signs of poor body work what so ever. The paint is of excellent show quality with no cracking or shrinkage and has a very deep luster. There is only a small spot near where the side mount bracket mounts to the splash apron that has been touched up and is nothing I would address as the car shows so well. The entire undercarriage is detailed and beautiful. The drive train from front to back is original to the car as is the correct original motor. This car was all gone through and restored about ten years ago and has won many awards with a recent best in class at a big show in Conn. The motor and transmission have been all rebuilt and this car is set up for touring and runs out very strong and is one of the best running & driving Model T’s you will ever drive. The motor has been all gone through and has the high compression aluminum Z Head and the transmission as well and has the Kevlar bands installed. The Firestone tires and tubes including flaps were installed and have little miles and are mounted on demountable rims for better touring. This car also has the complete True-Fire Ignition System installed. All the above mechanical items I just mentioned have been done recently at an addition cost of over $ 2,000.00. The top bows are original to the car and the seats and side panels are in fine shape. The correct top is beautiful as well as are all the leather straps. This car also still has the original drivers mounted Klaxton horn as seen in the pictures. Another thing you should know is that this car also comes with two other rare seldom or never seen accessory, one is and oil gauge side on the side of the motor and the other is a super rare dealer installed gas gauge on the gas tank under the seat. Both these items are in proper working order as is everything on this car. Please note that this car also has two rear view original mirrors, original jack, steward speedometer, leather crank cover and the correct convertible top boot. Who ever buys this car is going to get something special in many ways because of the few long term owners and that as you know most Model T’s over the years are pieced together often found with the wrong mechanical miss matched parts, this is not the case here. 1917 was the first year for the new all black Model T and the rarest of all the non brass T’s and the one to have in this style. Henry Ford made almost 600 Thousand Tourings in 1917 but only 106 Thousand Roadsters so these do not often come to market like other T’s and almost never in the original condition with long term ownership.
