This Very Rare and Beautiful 2004 Jaguar XKR PORTFOLIO Special Edition Convertible 4.2 Supercharged V8 is one such car and is finished in gorgeous and Exclusive Coronado Blue with a beautifully contrasting Blue/Charcoal Leather Interior/ Charcoal carpeting/ Chrome instrument rings/ sport pedals, shifter surround and 'Burl Walnut' trim. The supercharged XKR Convertible is already one of the world’s most desirable sports cars. The limited-edition Portfolio only adds to the car's immense appeal. Just 200 Portfolio models were built exclusively for the U.S. market, following on from previous collector XKR series – the XKR Silverstone (2001), and XKR100 (2002). Named after the famous British racetrack, the Silverstone celebrated Jaguar’s entry into Formula One racing, while the XKR100 celebrated the centenary of the birth of Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons. What this 2004 XKR Rarity has over its two also rare predecessors is the newer 4.2 engine/6 speed drivetrain configuration. The complete powertrain was revised from the rear axle forwards, with a new, larger-capacity, more-powerful V8, and a state-of-the-art, six-speed automatic transmission. In total, 900 partnumber changes – changes that gave the XK a completely new, more dynamic driving feel. While many of the components changed, the personality of the XK did not; it continues today to provide a perfect balance of a true, high-performance sports car and luxurious, elegant grand tourer. The new 4.2-liter SUPERCHARGED V8 – evolved from the familiar 4.0-liter AJ-V8 - took the performance of the new XK to soaring new levels. The car is also distinguished by bold, 20-inch split-rim BBS ‘Detroit’ alloy wheels fitted with high-performance 255/35ZR 20 tires at the front, Massive and Meaty 285/30ZR 20 at the rear. This really gives the Portfolio XKR that Staggered Muscular Stance. The Michelin Pilot Sport tires on this example are very fresh showing at least 80% tread life remaining. These exquisite factory rims are in beautiful unscuffed condition. The most significant changes were made to the interior. Heavily bolstered R Performance Recaro sports seats feature color-keyed Boxmark leather inserts in blue, to match the car’s exterior color. Blue Boxmark leather is also used for rear seat cushion and backrest inserts, as well as inserts for the steering wheel, the gearshift knob, the door panel inserts, and seat and center console piping. There is also a bronze-stained Sapele veneer Dashboard. The limited-edition XKR Portfolio had an original MSRP of $93,995. They were all presold and there was no negotiating. The changes made to the XK – larger capacity 4.2-liter engines, six-speed automatic transmission – contributes to an improvement in every aspect of the driving experience. This car has been inspected and found to be mechanically and electrically excellent. This car is in Beautiful and original condition throughout. The paintwork has the Lustre of new. So nice!!! The engine and transmission are strong and smooth and all electrical components operate as they should, including the convertible top.
