Vehicle Detail
1963 AMC Rambler 770 This is a very nice little car that needs only a little work to make a nice driver. This is an unusual car as it is factory equiped with air conditioning, power steering and bucket seats. A neat option is that only the passenger seat has a head rest - the driver seat never did. I am told this had to do with woman's hair do's at the time! Body - A previous owner started "restoring" this all original 78k mile car several years ago but never finished. The car was repainted gold and white but is has more metallic than the factory gold and white. Paint still shines nice but a few small bubbles have starting appearing. Would be easy to fix and touch up the paint. The trunk is very solid. The floors have a few small spots of rust which can be easily patched as well. The trunk is full of the parts that were taken off when painted. Overall, the body is very good. Interior - needs work. The front buckets need re-upolstering. The back seat is ok, but looks old. Head liner is good. Needs door panels, but they are so rectangular that they would be easy to make. Mechanical - Engine runs good but car is not drivable. The gas line was disconnected to flush the fuel tank and never hooked back up. The car will start with a gravity fuel bottle. The brake system was also being replaced. There are new wheel cylinders, brake hoses, and some brake lines installed, but the job was never finished. This car was a running driving car and will not take much to make road worthy again. The tires and battery are good. Please feel free to email me for more info or for questions. I would love to see it sell to someone who would make her a fun cruise night driver.
