Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this neat little 1958 NASH AMC METROPOLITAN. I purchased this Met in early 1993 after it was brought up from Tennessee. When purchased in Tennessee this vehicle had had some older restoration done whereby new floors were put in as well as other cosmetic detailing such as paint and seat covers. Since acquiring this vehicle in 1993 the following repairs, etc. were done. Replaced: carb, coil, clutch, bottom end engine parts, most wheel seals and bearings, hand brake cables, brakes (cylinders, master cylinders, shoes, hardware),clutch master and slave cylinder, tune -up including wires. Older amateur restoration replaced the floors. Other previous rust repair on rockers and doors and floors in now 'returning'. Grille surrounds replaced with really nice ones. Taillight/lenses replaced with new Amber plastic). Interior: 'Old" recovering of seats and panels. Carpets replaced when 'restored' likely in the 1970's or 1980's. New Headlight/Ignition Switch . Actual mileage unknown. Speedometer did not work correctly when it first came north. It read( 23,000 +/- ) Replaced with one reading approximately 40,000 miles. Inside of the engine reflects either extremely low mileage or very well maintained engine or both. Very recent tune-up (10-23-2012) includes cleaned and adjusted points, cleaned and adjusted carburetor. Added brake fluid. Clutch system bled. New Battery! Turns over when started. Engine is in good running condition (per mechanic who did the tune-up, etc.) This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. Good luck with your bidding and thanks for looking. The winning bidder is responsible for picking up the vehicle or making own transportation arrangements within 10 days from the end of the auction. A $500.00 deposit must be made within 48 hours at the end of the auction. Deposit must be made through PayPal. This deposit is to show good faith in completing the transaction. The balance is due within 10 days of the close of the auction. Funds must be certifiable before release of the title. All funds must be cleared in full berore the release of the vehicle
