Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 2002 TDI Jetta. It has 170k on it and it is a 5 speed. It is silver with gray cloth interior and it has a sun roof. I have owned the car for a little over 2 years. I picked her up in May of 2010 with 142k on her. When I first got her, she was in bad shape. The intake was completely clogged, the brakes were out, the interior wasn’t in the greatest condition, the stereo wasn’t working, it was missing a glove box, it wouldn’t go over 40mph, the drivers side window wasn’t working correctly and it was my first diesel! The Good: When I first bought the car in May of 2010, I cleaned the intake, replaced the mass air flow sensor, replaced both rear calipers and new rotors and brakes all the way around. Also took the car to MF Auto in Knoxville to get the timing belt replaced. After all of that I put a new set of tires on it and fixed the driver side window. After all this, the car ran like a champ for almost two years with absolutely no issues. In March of 2012, I had a lot of work done on the car. I had the passenger side axle replaced, the clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing, shift fork and pivot point, rear main seal, strut tower bolts, both lower control arms and lower ball joints. The clutch is a Sachs VR6 and the flywheel is a single mass. Also put a new set of tires on it and changed out the coolant sensor. In May of 2012, the turbo suffered a massive failure. I had about a quart of oil in the intercooler. I replaced the turbo, oil return line and oil feed line. The turbo I replaced it with was used. I bought off of the TDIClub Forums and it had about 76k on it. The newish turbo does not have any shaft play and does not leak oil. The original turbo could be rebuilt, it does not have any damage to the vanes, the bearings and the seals are gone. The Bad: Some of the interior pieces are broken, the center console is missing it’s cover, the drivers side window/lock button module is loose. The car has a few check engine lights on it: Excessive EGR Flow and Glow Plugs on 1 and 3. It’s missing the VW logos that go in the center caps on the wheels. The Ugly: It is missing a glove box, I have the original just haven’t had the time to fix it or buy a new one. The headliner was falling down in the rear and has been stapled up. The drivers side seat has a burn mark in it. The car has some small scrapes on the trunk. The drivers side corner light is cracked/broken. The drivers side fender has some scrapes on it and the car has a few very small rust spots. All of which are shown in the pictures. Overall: The body does not have any dents. The car has a few dings that are not noticeable. The condition of the paint on the car is about 80-90%. The car runs and drives great. I normally get 35-37 mpg in the city and 45-47mpg on the highway. Since I replaced the turbo, I have driven almost 3,000 miles. She has been regularly changed with Mobile 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 every 7,000 miles. Car doesn’t leak any fluids or burn any oil. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
