The 1949 Ford was a total break from previous styling when it was introduced on June 8, 1948. Everything was new and received an enthusiastic reception. By the time 1953 and 1954 rolled around, Ford went with some minor cosmetic changes and increasingly larger engines. Three model lines were offered during these years, and these were the Mainline, Customline, and Crestline. Of these three, the Crestline Skyliner, a 2-door hardtop with a tinted Plexiglas roof over the front seat, was Ford's luxury line car in 1954. This particular Skyliner has been treated to a fresh reconditioning and some great motor upgrades. Although this car isn't in show quality condition, it is a very clean classic that will not disappoint. The odometer reads 16,988 miles but is in excess of it's mechanical limits. This car rides on some factory wheels with chrome covers wrapped in a set of Hercules 205/70R14 white wall tires showing 90% tread life left. This car is a tribute to the American classic!
