Please contact me if you would like to see something specific. Vehicle History: It is my understanding that this FJ40 has spent its whole life in the wonderful state of Colorado, where it is still located 38 years later! The FJ was originally bought as a farm vehicle by a rancher who used it for a number of years until it was then stored for a couple of decades. It was then purchased by in 2010 by the former owner; at this point in time the vehicle was completely stock and had roughly 125,000 miles on it - however the engine had been removed while it was in storage. The FJ was slowly upgraded by the previous owner, until it was decided to build a truly hardcore trail rig; it was then sent to Redline Land Cruisers located in Calhan, Colorado. I purchased the vehicle in the summer of 2012 and I have enjoyed every minute of being on the trail and commuting in it. Mechanical Condition: All work has been professionally done through Redline Land Cruisers and the previous owner for the most part; I've cleaned/ finished some of the engine/ exterior lighting wiring, installed a brand new rear driveshaft built by Drive Train Industries located in Denver, Colorado, and other nitpicky items. The previous owner is also a certified mechanic who worked for Ford for a number of years and currently builds race cars and other rock crawlers in his free time; his biggest contribution to the rebuild was the engine that he personally rebuilt - I'm a diesel mechanic myself. (I'm sure I'll forget something): Engine:Fully rebuilt 1980 vintage 2F (full valve job on head; 10K over bored; new pistons/rings/bearings, etc.).RV cam, JimC rebuilt Aisin carb, header with new exhaust, HEI distributor with full electronic ignition and hi-perf plug wires, gear reduction starter, new fuel pump, liquid heat riser, all new heater and radiator hoses, radiator cleaned and pressure tested. Drivetrain:Marlin clutch disc/ pressure plate/ throw out bearing, new master and slave cylinder.H41 Australian low first gear 4 speed transmission with Orion dual stick 4-1 transfer case, and new CV joint-style drive shafts front & rear. (Rear has less than 350 miles on it.) Steering:Saginaw steering gear conversion & power steering pump setup.High steer 6 stud knuckles with HD DOM arms; FJ80 tie rod ends; steering stabilizer; all new knuckle & axle bearings & seals. Suspension & Axles:Spring over suspension with Alcan springs, ProComp shocks, and shackles reversed.FJ60 axles relocated 1.5" forward in front, and 1.5" backwards in rear - gusseted and braced. Longfield chromoly axles up front, and 4.88 gears front & rear.ARB lockers front & rear.New disc brakes front & rear, new wheel bearings, and Marlin super seals.Rear axle traction bar, and FJ80 disc master cylinder. Exterior:Redline custom stinger, tube fenders (front and rear), and heavy duty rear bumper.Warn 8274 winch.Hella off road lights.Big Eye headlight conversion with 1975 style blinkers.Trailer hitch, dual D-ring mounts (front and rear).LED illuminated liscense plate holder. Interior:Stock dash is intact and has no cuts, rips, etc.Aftermarket tachometer, oil pressure guage, dash pad, and grab bar. ARB HD compressor accompanied by a 2.5 gallon air tank. Redline full DOM rollcage with seat cradle.Corbeau Moab bucket seats.Kobra CB radio. Weather Protection:Bestop soft top in very good condition. Two piece Bestop soft doors.Bestop Bikini top. Majority of vehicle is covered in Aquala diamond plate, this includes the back half of the tub, and tailgate (which has been cut out and replaced with fresh metal). Body:The vehicle has the typical FJ40 rust pockets, only two patches have been made in the rear wheel wells. The rest of the rust on the vehicle is only surface and minimal at best. There are no cancerous areas present - afterall it's been in Colorado for nearly 40 years, it is a very dry state. This is a rock crawler; the vehicle has a few beauty marks here and there, but they're minor scratches that can easily be painted if desired. The rest of the body (including frame) is straight and clean; it has never been in any accident while driving on road, and hasn't suffered and major damage while on the trail. Wheels and tires:37" IROK radials with 80-75% tread, mounted on 17" MRW beadlocks; internally balanced.Spare tire is 37" BF Goodrich Wrangler, it's a spare - it will get you home or where ever you need to go. This is the rig that will easily get to the top of any hill you want to climb, get all the looks/ head turns and thumbs up you could ever desire, and is the perfect 4x4 to put the top down and just drive on a nice summer evening. It will get you to the trail head, walk through the trail, and send you back home in one piece without ever complaining- one of the best FJ40's out there. And it's waiting for you! Happy Bidding!
