It’s a COMPLETE OEM bike, with very few exceptions. It’s powered by a twin cylinder, oil injected, two-stroke engine with twin carbs and dual exhaust. It run fabulously and starts immediately when the electric start, or if desired, on the first kick with the kick-starter. Oil pump and carbs have been adjusted to factory specifications. Engine tune and exhaust output is spot on and smokes appropriately. Engine is smooth, powerful and doesn’t rattle (no 2 stroke piston slap) or leak oil. Engine compression is 125-128 PSI in both cylinders. This GT185K comes with new rear shocks, new Michelin tires with tubes, new battery, new OEM Suzuki tool kit, OEM rubber straps for tank, tank cushion, battery strap tool strap and fork seals. Fork tubes were flushed for complete cleaning and refilled with Belray 7wt fork oil. Points and condensers have been checked, cleaned and the points felt pad has been oiled. All cables have been adjusted and lubricated and work as they should. Headlight, taillight, turn signals and all idiot lights are all original OEM and function perfectly. Again, no after market turn signals or lenses. Drum brakes have been fully serviced and work very well with plenty of pad remaining on both front and rear. Gauges are clean, functional and have clear lenses. The chrome exhaust is in very good shape with a good shine. Some minor battery acid stains mid section on left pipe (pictured) but otherwise less than average wear on the exhaust for a 40 year old motorcycle. The other chrome fenders, tail light, rims, etc., shines well with only minor pitting on the backside of the front fender (pictured). Both front and rear rims are true, straight and shine as if they were new with only minor pitting on the rear rim. Gas tank interior is clean and is in very good condition with no leaks. Due to sun damage the tank was professionally repainted with period correct color for a beautiful ‘better than new’ finish (pictured). The side covers and fork ears have excellent original paint and match the tank color beautifully. I took great pains to ensure the originality of this motorcycle by using OEM parts whenever possible. So what’s not OEM? The seat was replaced with an OEM reproduction. The fuel lines, tires, petcock, rear shocks and battery are replaced with OEM ‘like’ products. If nuts, bolts, or other items were replaced, they were OEM and purchased from Suzuki (my local dealer loves me).I have clear title with key for this beautiful 1973 Suzuki GT185K. Remember, this is a 40-year-old motorcycle that has been restored to VERY GOOD running condition. The pictures tell the story of how clean and precise this bike is to being original. OH, DID I MENTION THIS BIKE ONLY HAS 3,993 MILES!!!! There have been other bikes on eBay of this period and typically they all need tires or a battery or it’ll say “a great bike to restore”. Well none of those apply here. This bike has been restored to “ready to ride” and that’s exactly what I’m doing, so the mileage may be a little more than listed.
