Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a stunning 1994 Buick Park Avenue. Under 54,000 miles. Book value in mint is around 3,600, in fair condition it is 2,600.....making this apossible great deal for someone. The white and chrome with the Vogue tires make this one a real eye catcher. Car was my fathers for most of it's life. He bought Buicks all the time and was friends with the owner of a dealer in Westchester NY. That is where the car originated. For most of it's life it was kept in garage. Unfortunately, (and this is the 2nd Buick that is in my family that has this) this car is the victim of another poor factory paint job. Something all too common for GM cars of the 80's and 90's. The paint is peeling, most notably on the roof. There is surface rust that is beginning to come up, but you can almost rub it off with your finger. There are a few small spots here and there where the paint is also starting to peel. The hood and trunk lid is starting to check and these areas are probablly the next that will start to peel. Hard to see and picture, but there is a pic I posted. Other than the paint, the car is SOLID. No accidents, dents, dings or rust. Any chrome is in great shape. The rims sit on Vogue Tires with much of their tread left. NO dry rot. The car has an automatic trunk which means you close it most the way and an actuator will slowly close completely. This actuator is a bit testy and sometimes it doesn't work. Seems to be cheap enough to replace this. The underside of the car (frame) is really clean....better then you would expect. Interior is in very good condition and is smoke free. There are two spots on the dash where there are cracks. One is under the radio, and the other is in the passanger side front corner. If you look close enough in the pics you can make them out. Everything works except for the drivers side window. Seats have no tears and don't show wear. Heat and AC work perfect. Antenna works. No issues other than the drivers power window that is not working. Mechanically it seems to need a tune up. It hasn't been driven for a couple years and mostly sitting around. It idles abit shaky and teeters low in the RPM's...almost like it wants to stall. It runs and drives as you can see in the video where I took it up and down the street. Seems to get better when it warms up I think. I can't tell you if it would make it 900 miles if you were to fly out and pick it up. It very well may be fine. But if it were me I would be more comfortable having it serviced it first. I always err on the side of caution. I am no mechanic, in speaking to one on the phone he said it could be as simple as a tune up, maybe a vacuum line, maybe the computer, maybe a fuel injection issue....I never brought it in so I really don't know. Based on the fact that it has been garaged kept most of its life, maintained properly and with low mileage I can't imagine it is anything serious. By all means come and check it out don't take my word for it. There are too many cars in my family and I can't keep them all..Though it has sentimental value I realize I will never have the time to do anything with it, and really I don't need any more vehicles. See VIDEO demonstrating it's running condition and drivability: http://youtu.be/5wRPx3xUi-A The suspension is unbelievable. They do not make cars that ride like this anymore. Very smooth, floats like a cadillac. Very comfortable to drive. Additional pictures can be seen at: www.photobucket.com/94parkavenue Sold AS IS. I suggest coming to see it in person. I have described it to the best of my ability, and have added multiple pics and videos so you know what you will get. PLEASE ask me an questions you have and as many as you have. I have no intention of misleading anyone. I continue to do my best to describe its condition. I want you to be happy with the car, especially if you buy it sight unseen. I do love the car and look forward to it finding a good home.
