Vehicle Detail
All original rust free South Carolina 1970 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible Have owned this Oldsmobile 98 convertible since the early 1980's. It has been stored inside my warehouse, in Charleston, SC and driven very little and only on sunny days. The 80k miles is believed to be original. I bought this 98 near Greenville, SC, in the early 1980's and it had less than 80k miles at that time. This Olds was sold new at Minyard Oldsmobile in Anderson, SC. Pete recently drove this Olds out of my warehouse where it has been stored indoors for the past 15 years. He drove it out to check everything over because I've decided it is time to sell this beauty due to the fact I had a stroke in Feb 2003 and am not able to enjoy my toys any more. Pete rebuilt the complete brake system and cleaned out the gas tank. he serviced the car completely and test drove it several miles to be sure everything is functioning properly. The A/C needs a shot of freon to make it really cold. This 98 convertible runs , drives and stops perfectly. Due to sitting in my warehouse for so many years, I would advise the buyer to replace the Michelin tires before driving any distance, although the tires did fine when being driven recently. You be the judge. There is a clear piece of vinyl tape on the center panel of the bottom of the front seat, under the center arm rest . It was on there when I bought the car and it has not come loose or discolored in any way. You might be able to see it in the posted interior photos, but it is not very noticeable. The paint is original, except for the rear of the trunk lid, the interior is original and the convertible top is original. The top functions properly and there is a top boot in the trunk that I never put on the car. I drove this car locally off and on through the early 1990's and it has never been in the rain since I've owned it. this is a terrific parade car and Oldsmobiles are no longer produced, making this 43 year old land yacht a classic collector car.
