Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a superb example of a Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Litre. This car was completely disassembled in June 2009. The motor was rebuilt with Porsche OEM parts including rod bearings, piston rings, new timing chain tensioners, new timing chain. In addition, all valves were given a 3-angle valve job. A set of Web Cam grind #20/21 camshafts were installed at the time of the rebuild. The cams give the car a nice lope at idle and extremely good top end horsepower. The transmission was also disassembled at the time of the rebuild. New German synchros, as well as a new input shaft bearing, were also installed at this time. Finally, once the car was put back together, a 911 chips performance engineering chip was installed in the ECM to complement the Web Cam's camshafts. Recently I have installed a new OEM Porsche voltage regulator, new battery, BOSCH wiper blades, and Fabspeed muffler bypass exhaust. The car is also equipped with an AM/FM/CD/MP3/USB stereo with Alpine speakers, front and rear and an excellent Alpine alarm with key fob. Lastly, an oil change was just performed using Valvoline 20W50 racing oil, non-synthetic, and a Mahle German oil filter less than 100 miles ago. Everything is functioning as it should on this vehicle. The car also has a set of Fuchs deep dish rims that are in good condition. The car leaves the line as it should, shifts through every gear, and stops on a dime. This car is adult-owned by a lifelong porsche enthusiast and owner, as well as an ASE-certified master mechanic who owns a transmission rebuilding shop. I have put many painstaking hours into this car to get it running to my standards. The rest of the restoration lies on the shoulders of the next owner. Car also has a rennspeed front strut tower brace installed and 2 bilstien front strut inserts, not installed. The Good:Rust-free. Accident free. New paint job using Sikkens paint, using 2 applications base coat, 3 applications clear coat. Car was Grandprix white. Engine was built right, transmission was built right, car has never been tracked, raced or abused. Very solid, dependable 911 that is my daily driver, 62 miles a day. The $7000, new from Porsche, Targa top is in excellent condition. The Bad:Previous owner cut out where carpet goes in front of front seats (this is easily hidden by floor mats, but new owner may want to replace front carpet). Car has three small dents, less than a dime size, that are very hard to see and impossible for me to get a good picture of. They are so un-noticable, that really only I know where they are. Easily removed for $150 using a paintless dent removable company. These paintless dent companies are worth their weight in gold. Believe me, it works! The headlamp switch is finicky, as are most 911 high beam switches. If you hit a bump on the road hard enough, the high beams will turn on. Lastly, however I don't know if this is good or bad, it depends on who you ask, but I recently purchased a Fabspeed muffler bypass. I think it is loud, but it sounds great. You can hear the cam lope really well. I have the stock exhaust, which is in fair condition and takes 20 minutes to install. I will include this with the purchase of the car. Currently, the 911 has the track tires installed from my '85 Cabriolet. I have a set of almost new Advan 1 tires that I will include with the purchase of the car. The car needs an alignment, as it pulls ever so slightly to the right. The lug nuts need to be touched up; but I have 8 ML of paint left over for the touch-up. In closing, this is a really good example of a Porsche 3.2L Carrera. It is fast, it does what it should, it is noticeable and is a BLAST to drive. It is everything a 911 was designed to be. I understand that we Porsche enthusiasts are inherently picky, but please keep in mind this car is 26 years old. As with most Porsche owners, I do not have to sell this car, nor do I even want to sell it, but I have my eyes set on a new toy, and this one must go. Payment Details:$550 due via PayPal immediately (within 24 hours) of the end of the auction. Car must be picked up within 5 days of the end of the auction. Buyer is responsible for arranging for car pickup as well as all costs associated with shipping.
