Up for sale is a 1950 Willys Jeepster convertible with six cylinders and three speed manual transmission. This car is one of the 1949 Jeepsters that was on the assembly line when they switched to the 1950 model. Therefore, the sheet metal is 1949 style and not the 1950 style. The car belongs to my elderly father who is a retired Ford and Chrysler engineer. He has owned it since 2003 and has not driven it much in the last three years. He has asked me to help him sell it. It is running and driving, and is licensed. The car is pretty much as it was when he purchased it, but he has made the following improvements: -New convertible top and side curtains -New water pump and battery (April 2012) -New steering box and rag joint -Newer steering wheel from The Jeepster Man -New convertible wood bows -Electric fuel pump -Other small trim items and improvements He has the following additional items that will be sold with the car: -Both sets of upper and lower steps, re-chromed just not installed -Two Jeepster spotlights, near new, not installed The car is a solid number 3, meaning it is a running, driving car, but not a show car of a 1 or 2 status. It's a fun weekend car cruise car, not a trailer queen. The car was originally from Kentucky. There is no rust that we are aware of anywhere on the car. As you can see in the pictures of the engine compartment the car has a diamond plate on the firewall that is from the previous owner. My father left it like that. The car is located in Wilmington, North Carolina and is available for inspection. Pick up only. I will not ship. It can be driven on to a car carrier arranged by the buyer. I will not end the auction early, nor am I interested in any trades.
