This is a relist. Last winner never sent the deposit so this is back for sale. You are bidding on my personal daily driver car. I drive 8 miles to work and love all the attention this car gets. This is one of the rarest cars on the road as only 40,000 were made in total. I also have a bug eye sprite (which is base on the Midget and Austin Mark IV), in which millions were made. So if you think the MGs/Austins are rare, this Datsun is a rarer beast! So why am I selling? Long story short, I bought a bugeye sprite so need the space. In May, I paid $3500 and had the whole entire brake system of this car redone. This is just not just brakes and shoes, this is the ENTIRE system: and all new parts, not remanufactured or rebuilt. This included the master cylinder, all brand new hoses and lines, calipers, brakes, shoes, drums, the whole 9 yards. My intent was to keep this guy for a while and I wanted a safe car to drive. This car is definitely not concourse but it's a very nice condition car as the pictures will attest. It's got brand new tires, nice interior with no rips, hard top that's in great condition (rear windows are not yellow or cloudy). Electrical system works (clock, cigarette lighter, etc.). There's no body rust anywhere on the car (surface rust, sure, but no holes through the metal). My mechanic loves this car and is amazed at how well it's built like a tank (steal beams with cross beams underneath). Almost like a race car. For even more pictures than the 4 included with ebay, please go to www(dot)photobucket(dot)com/roadster2000. You will love the insurance. I have full coverage insurance with american collector that includes free tow, $500 vintage parts reimbursement, for only $125 a year. Disclaimer: I'm old and may not remember exactly everything with the car, but these are some things on the top of my head: speedometer doesn't work, mileage last showed 89,650. Trunk lock was never replaced. I have a rubber grommet in the hole to prevent moisture. Everything else is just basic wear and tear for a 40 year old car. She's very reliable compared to my Austin. That's why I prefer driving her. Anyway, the usual stuff: $500 deposit 24 hours upon successful winning bid. The remainder in form of cashier's check 7 days after. Transport is solely the responsibility of the buyer. I will assist the best I can like driving somewhere close to meet the transport truck, but nothing that requires me and my wife driving anywhere far. If you cannot abide by these conditions, please do not bid. Thanks and enjoy!!! If you want to see her in person, email me and I will give you the address. On Oct-21-12 at 07:02:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, the radio works. I'm able to get a few stations, nothing hidef, mind you.
