Vehicle Detail
BEFORE BIDDING PLEASE READ BIDDER REQUIREMENTS BELOW!!! Summary/Condition - This is great opportunity to get a nice Karmann Ghia. These cars are becoming very rare with few coming up for sale, especially in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic. I would rate the car a 3- (almost good) on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being perfect or show, 5 being parts. The car is currently registered and on the road and can be driven as you restore or as is with the new owner going as far as they or their budget desires. I have tried to detail and represent the condition as accurately as possible without writing a "book" as the car looks better in the pictures, but it is a 38 year old project car, needs work and there's no way to detail every flaw. It should be expected some things may be missed, so inspections are welcome if your local and other bidders should consider the risks before you bid! I will respond to all reasonable questions as best as possible. Engine - runs well and was recently tuned up with the associated parts, plugs, wires, filters, etc. drives, shifts, stops etc. It has a brand new exhaust, muffler, shocks, carb, fuel pump, fuel lines. Brake system has just been serviced and inspected with new lines, master cylinder and work great. Interior - The interior is complete, but older and really should be redone needs include new headliner, rubber seals, etc. The horn and windshield wipers don't work, and probably need to be checked and hooked up etc. The PO also installed a set of VDO gauges, but they need to be hooked up. (I have the originals) It also has I'm told is an original SCAT shifter from the 70's, this is not a reproduction. Body - Nose appears clean and accident free (rare). Floors are solid with POR -15 and as expected for a 38 year old used car have had fill repairs along with the rockers, wheel edges, trunk bottom edge etc. The usual places.. It has few surface rust spots, dings and one or two minor dents but all is presentable and repairable if you want to go that far. As stated it's a project and needs work, but looks good from 10 feet. Tires/Wheels - Goodyear 185/65/15 wider (pretty much NEW!) on Riviera rims. Why Selling - I decided to move to a new daily driver and simply don't have the time or room, so it's time to pass it to a new owner to enjoy. Update: I've been getting several questions about driving the car home, daily driver etc. So to make it easy I'll add although the car runs pretty good and does drive etc. since working on the car over the last few years, I've only driven locally around town etc Since the car is nearly 40 years old and still a project I would suggest towing it or shipping it for practical safety reasons unless the new owner is local. As for daily driving as I mentioned it can be used and made to get there, but I personally wouldn't prior to addressing at least some of the items in the description. *Other hard to find misc. parts and trim available. I'm looking to move the car and researched the market with a very reasonalble LOW RESERVE AND BUY NOW. I will answer all emails that are realistic inquiries. **In respect for both our time... Please no low or unreasonable offers. No Trades are desired. *No scams. *Continental US bids only will be accepted. (That means east coast to west coast). Shipping - is the buyers responsibility. (Please account for these expenses and timing in your bid)!!! Car must be picked up within 7 days of auction close. Payment/Transfer - Title will not be released until all funds are received and verified (cashed) in full. Cash or US Postal Service Money orders only. No Bank checks of any kind. I prefer cash in person. PayPal can be used but subject to a 3% fee paid by the buyer. Bidder Requirements: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!! Please only bid if you intend to complete the purchase according to the listing. This includes making arrangements for PAYING for and SHIPPING the vehicle if applicable AS STATED IN THE LISTING. If you win the bid the deal is expected to close timely and is final! No Returns or delays. Bids will only be accepted if you have at least 5 positive feedbacks or contact me directly PRIOR TO BIDDING. Any bids not meeting this requriement will be immediately removed. The seller expects the buyer to respond immediately (but no later than 24 hours) after the auction confirming payment and shipping expectations. (This is usual to ensure the intention and legitamacy of the bid/buyer) and failure to follow any of the these common bidder requirements will result in cancelling of the transaction and relisting. The car is for sale locally and subject to sale and auction end prior to the reserve price being met. Your bid is a contract and failure to complete the transaction per eBay will be pursued. I apologize for the detail, but would like a smooth transaction for all and have had issues in the past. I'm simply looking for reasonable confirmation immmediately following the auction sale and to complete the transaction timely and can work with the buyer if other arrangements are needed if discussed before bidding. On Oct-12-12 at 08:31:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Update/Correction: No additional fee for Paypal.
