For Sale today is my 1964 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. I have owned and enjoyed this car for about a year and a half. I am selling because I have lost my job and have to get rid of a few things that are not necessities and pay for a few things that are. I bought this from a neighbor of mine that had this car 30 YEARS! He is the one that restored it and the only things I have done to it is put air shocks on the rear and a new starter on it. I also installed SS hubcaps. I have purchased period seat belts for it, but have not got them installed. They will go with the car. This car is far from perfect, but has been in the parade the last 2 years and was recently in a wedding 2 weeks ago. It is corvette red, with black interior. It has a 350 ci motor with a 4 barrel. It runs exceptionally well and has a VERY smooth shifting MUNCIE 4 speed that makes it a blast to drive. It has the radio delete on it, so when you have the top down and have it on the open highway, all you hear is the 60's rumble of the dual exhaust. Interior is in great shape, but the seats are a little faded. Tires are is real good condition, and rides smooth. It has a factory TACHOMETER, but is not hooked up. It has a factory TISSUE holder under the glove box which is somewhat rare. All the windows work great. It has a POWER convertible top, so with the push of a button the top can go from up to down. It has black Carpet floor that is very clean, and very hard to keep clean, but is solid and looks very nice. The Muncie shifter boot is worn a little, but does not effect the operation of the 4 speed. The dash is in great shape, but the clock does not work. This is a TILT car and is a very comfortable option. The front seat moves back and forth as it should. On the outside, there is a few very small spots of cancer (rust) at the bottom. They are hardly noticable, but check out the pics on the rear quarter panels to see. The paint is in decent shape and is corvette red according to the previous owner. It has the usual rock chips that I have tried to touch up. This car has never seen rain since I have owned it, and has been in the garage EVERY night. The chrome is not perfect, but is in very good shape. The trunk has a ding in it that the previous owner put in it, the night before i bought it, as he was backing out of the garage to wax it, and backed into a bush. See the pics. The air shocks are aired up in the pics you see, but you can let the air out of them to level the car. In the trunk, I did paint the entire trunk with a rubberized coating for protection, there is not rust in there at all, but i believe the previous owner told me he had some cut out and patched when he restored it long ago. I have the original hub caps that came with the car, I came across these SS ones and thought they looked classyer. This car runs super great and for a big car feels quite nimble. It gets looks and comments EVERY time I take it out. I can not think of any reason you could not drive this car across country. It is farely low geared and does very well on gas if you just cruise with it, although if you open her up she will move, but I dont like driving it like that. That is why my license plates say "just cruisin", because that is what she likes to do. I truly wish I did not have to sell it and expected to pass it down to my kids, but circumstances have changed. I invite anyone to come and drive this car before bidding or buying it. There is no hidden problems with it. I did forget to mention, the previous owner gave me all new rubbers around the windows which I have installed on it. The parking brake works, but sometimes it does not grab (when you push the pedal down, it will not stay down), I think there is a spring that is missing, because you can reach under the dash and push a little button and it works just fine. Most of time the pedal works like it should. The signal switch has been converted to a manual switch under the dash, I have not had the time to hook it up the factory switch, therefore I do not know if the factory turn switch works. The factory plug is still in tact. Also, the top is good shape, but there is one very small hole in it, I believe on the passenger side. The cover for the top is missing 2 snaps on it, which is minor. I also have some extra interior chrome that the previous owner gave to me and i will let go with the car, but it is stuff that is already on the car, so it will just be some extra stuff for you to have. One came with it when i bought it, and I have not used it, but it is good condition, and the other one, I got for christmas and use it all the time. thanks THIS CAR HAS A MANUAL 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION IN IT. NOW IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE CARS WOULDNT YOU RATHER HAVE A MANUAL 4 SPEED IN IT THAN AN AUTOMATIC TRANS? I have had a few questions i would like to answer. The trunk is solid and looks great. The floor boards are solid with no rust. the under carriage is in great condition also. The motor is clean and carries i believe over 50. I am so confident with this car, if you are the winning bidder and the car is not as I have described, or I have left something out, I will refund your money. YES REFUND YOUR MONEY.
