Up for auction is a 1988 supercharged Toyota MR2 with 83,100 original miles. The car is black with a black and grey interior and a manual transmission with t-tops. I have owned the car for six years. I bought it in Deerfield beach Florida and it was a south florida car since new. I have always garaged the car and it has never been driven in the winter. I only put about 1000 miles a year on it that is why I am selling it. Too many cars. This is one of the nicest rust-free MR2's that I have ever seen. The car is absolutely 100% rust-free-not a spot from top to bottom. Even underneath! The car has never had any rust. The paint was faded from the Florida sun so I had it repainted in the original color. Not a cheap paint job-all of the trim was removed including weatherstripping, door handles, moldings, bumpers and ground effects so there is even coverage and no overspray. I have pics taken during the process to show that there was no rust or body damage-just faded paint. The paint is glossy and gorgeous-look at the reflection in the pics. The body is laser straight with no damage. I even replaced all of the decals including the bumper bird and the triple stripe around the car-very hard to find the correct size. Even the lower valance is not cracked. All of the glass is good with no cracks. Mechanically the car is perfect. When I got the car I removed the engine and transmission.I replaced the clutch and both the clutch slave and master cylinders. I resealed the engine completely with all new gaskets including the head gasket and new oil cooler lines, new timing and drive belts, thermostat and hoses. I also replaced the water pump and alternator. All tie rods and sway bar links were replaced-front and rear. The car is spotless underneath-no leaks at all. There is not a spot of rust-not even surface rust! All of the bolt heads are still painted from the factory. All of the heat shields are still there-usually they have rusted away. The car is so rust-free that even the exhaust system unbolted. All of the parts were replaced with new OEM Toyota parts-no used or aftermarket parts. EVerything works as it should. Ice cold A/C, Heat, power windows and locks, good switches and no rattles. Brakes are recent and all 4 tires match with 70-80% treadlife remaining. The interior is as nice as the exterior. There is nofading or cracks in the dash or door panels. The seats are clean with no fading stains or wear. same for the carpet and panels. The car comes with the t-top shades. I was told the t-tops leak a little when driving in the rain but not when sitting. I have never driven it in the rain but they do not leak when I wash the car. The leather steering wheel shows no wear and the leather shift knob is new from toyota. I have many more pics available. Call Kevin at 847-269-2386 with questions.
