I am offering my 1986 GMC Sierra pickup for sale with 140,XXX original miles. We have owned and cared for this truck since 1993 when it was in almost new condition. We are the second owners of the truck. Here are the things that need mention: The truck does not leak, but does burn a small amout of oil, I add about a quart between oil changes every 4,000 miles. The steering wheel is tilt and the pin the holds it stationary I believe broke, as the steering wheel, will move about an inch up and down, pivoting where it tilts. It is NOT an issue and is a very common and inexpensive fix if your picky enough to do it, you dont even notice it unless you lift it, and it is in no way a safety issue. When you shift into reverse, there is a small clunk, there is NO delay then clunk, the tranny is not worn out, it's an immediate clunk when shifting into reverse and affects nothing. Seat is a little ripped where the driver sits, but its been like that for 8-10 years and hasn't gotten worse. The winshield wipers work, but recently when you turn them on they stay on and you have to manually stop them with the wiper speed switch. I am almost positive its a fuse as it worked fine a while ago. Wiper fluid motor works great but one of the lines that connects to the wiper is disconnected. it would be a 5 minute, and $2 fix, just needs a new rubber hose. AC will work, it just needs a recharge. It worked and over that last couple years its just been loosing charge and I never used it much so I never recharged it. Has dual tanks, and they both are leak free, only issue is, the gas guage, on one side the gas guage doesn't work and on the other side it does, but is is empty on 1/4 tank. I have driven it for a long time like this, just never saw the need to fix it since both tanks work. Has nice dual exhaust, but it is not loud in any way. Has power windows and they both work, driver side has a new motor, and the other is older and works slower, may need a new one in a year or two. Comes with a very nice almost new spare tire. All 4 tires have plenty or tread and are in good shape. 50% or more on all of them. All lights and signals work. Has a very basic radio, nothing special. Speakers are ok, but nothing special. This truck was sold a few months ago and the buyer was a dead beat and never came and got it. The title is filled out on my part of it, his name was never signed, so it didn't hurt anything. The only thing is the odometer was filled in at 138,000 and I have put 2,000 on it since, so the only thing about the title is it will have 2,000 less miles stated than actual, which is no big deal. This truck, is extremely reliable. We have owned it for 19 years and it has NEVER left us stranded, or failed to start. Runs very strong, no issues, leaks or noises. Has cruise control that works great. Tranny shifts good and has many, many miles left. I wouldn't be a but suprised if it has another 80 or 90,000 miles left it it. This truck has NEVER been driven hard and has been well cared for. Gets 10-13mpg depending on how you drive, maybe 14 highway. It is rusty, but a very solid truck. I would honestly trust this truck to go across country tommorrow. Whoever buys it can drive it home, thats for sure. Feel free to ask questions.
