Vehicle Detail
2002 E430. It saddens me to sell it but my fiancé and I are buying our first house together so I need to prioritize. I originally purchased the vehicle to be a safe, bigger more roomy vehicle that we can load the future family in due to Mercedes-Benz being, in my eyes and the eyes of countless people, the safest vehicle on the road. I work for Mercedes-Benz as a master technician for many years before coming off the floor to be a service representative, so I know these vehicle very very well, and serviced the vehicle and maintained the vehicle better then you could ever ask. A quick run threw of the history: I purchased the vehicle after being traded in on the newest model. The vehicle did need some work but the motor and drive train (all the major components) were in perfect working condition. The interior was in fantastic condition and had been cared for very well, still has the original carpet floor mats that look amazing. Over all very clean. I had the intentions of using as a family vehicle and daily driver so I took my time and nit picked every little thing that needed attention, or could have potentially been an issue as well as the higher occurrence items that Iv seen over time become an issue on this model. I do service a lot of them so I know what to look for. Over the time I ended up putting matching Michelin tires all the way around (est 50% life remanding or so)-(had aftermarket directional tires installed when purchased). I replaced the 2 main motor mounts, rear transmission mount, 2 front lower ball joints, 2 new front coil springs, new front sway bar end links and bushings, New spark plugs within the last 10k miles, full rear end differential flush and service, full mobil One synthetic oil and MB fleece filter insert with seals, new valve cover gaskets and resealed the top breathers and installed new rubber hoses that were needed that attach to the valve cover breathers, buffed and sealed the headlights due to slight fading, new crank shaft position sensor ( higher occurrence item in this model over time), full 4 wheel braking system flush thats recommended every 2 years to MB maintenance standards, new air filter insert, new wiper blade assembly, multiple new bulbs in the instrument cluster and tail lamps, corner lamps and fog lamps with lower fog lamp wiring end repair (higher occurrence issue), power steering system fluid flush, mass air flow meter cleaning procedure, new transmission electrical connector pilot bushing kit, full transmission maintenance with new filter, pan gasket, fluid, after cleaning, new rear main motor seal and plate kit installed due to the start of a minor leak. All listed parts above are all factory Mercedes-Benz parts with most receipts on hand. All the maintenance items and repairs were done over time as needed because I had full intentions of keeping the vehicle indefinitely. Its 1 of 5 vehicles that we own so it mainly gets used for long road trips to visit family because its so comfortable to drive wile getting 27-29 mpg on the highway at 80mph with more then enough room to spare. All one touch up and down windows front and rear, one touch open sunroof, front heated seats, full leather, 6 disc cd changer, electric rear window sunshade, automatic duel zone climate control with rear seat venting, ice cold A/C, keyless entry with blade-less keys, automatic drop down open or close windows from exterior from key fobs when pointed at inferred recievers on both front external door handles, full steering wheel stereo control, digital vehicle information in instrument cluster with optional digital speedometer, fuel economy, fuel range indicator, digital external temperature, oil quality service indicator with auto oil level reading, and every other option a Benz is known for. Perfect working pixels in instrument cluster which is rare at this point in these vehicles life. Theres not one mechanically known issue that I would address at this time if I was personally going to keep the vehicle indefinitely that I can think of. The few last things I would consider replacing over time would be the front and rear brake pads and rotors when the time comes because there aftermarket but theres still good life remanding at this time. The biggest issues would be the few bumps and bruises on the body that don't effect drivability or safety in any way. The passenger side front vanity mirror cover is missing (mirror is fine- just missing the cover), The front bumper has a few little hair line cracks that you cant see unless right on top of, the drivers side back portion of the door and quarter panel has a scratch and slight dent and bubbling from where the paint was exposed, the drivers side front door mirror glass plastic ring has a 1/2 inch scuff (so minor and almost unseen but there) and lastly the rear trunk deck lid by the license plate lamp has a small portion of paint bubbling. Ill show in pics as best as possible but if you want more please don't hesitate to ask. The vehicle isn't due for a service for another 4500 miles. ( when using factory filters and recommended synthetic oils this vehicle only requires service every 10k miles)... But after vehicle sells Ill perform a full synthetic oil service on the vehicle and recalibrate the onboard monitoring system so you wont be required to service the motor for another 10K miles after purchase and so I know the vehicle is being sold with the maintenance up to date. Overall the vehicle runs great, rides great, and holds the road as it would have 10 years ago, the interior is super clean and not all torn up and dirty and probably in better condition then most i'v seen with half the mileage, everything works and works as designed. I feel i'v listed and described everything to the best of my knowledge and if I think of anything I'll update the listing accordingly, BUT due to the mechanical nature of any vehicle- theres no warranty or guarantee of any kind. I invite you to come inspect and look over the vehicle on a scheduled basis to confirm the auction description. Email me with any questions or additional picture requests and to set up an inspection. Will have to be after work hours but I will put vehicle on the lift so you can inspect the undercarriage if requested. No test drives without cash in hand. No exceptions. I will be driving the vehicle daily wile the auction is active to ensure no issues arise and to have vehicle accessible incase a showing is requested so the mileage will be slightly higher then pictured in cluster. Thanks for looking, good luck and happy bidding! If you win, Welcome to the Mercedes-Benz family.
