Vehicle Detail
We call our Euro Van Camper (EVC) Shelly. She is a 1999 VW Winnebago Euro Van Full Camper. The last picture is the Coach House in Sapphire Valley tucked in the foothills of Western North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains where she stays. Consider picking her up and staying overnight. The next day let us help you know Shelly as we do. She is all ready to go. Fully outfitted. Pots, pans, china, cutlery, towels, comforter, tp, tools, levelers, jumper cables, first aid kit - the list is long. If you would like a complete list, just ask. All she really needs is you, love ones and some groceries. And we have a nice up scale market just 4 miles away. If you have the time hang around for a day or so and enjoy the amenities and the Fall Colors of Sapphire Valley - a place people come for miles to enjoy. Where ever you live taking Shelly home can be pleasant. West an hour and a half is the Smoky Mountain National Park or only five a half hours to Nashville’s country music. South to the Gulf Coast or East to the Atlantic Seaboard with the Barrier Islands, historic Charleston & Savannah. North up the Scenic Blue Ridge Highway. Shelly loves the open road. Shelly appreciates that we’re neat & tidy and not smokers. She has the VR6 2.8L V6 cylinders engine which has power and get up and go. With Cruise Control at 75 - 80 on an Interstate she is rock solid, no wandering. The long wheel base makes for a comfortable ride which keeps a long day from being a chore. On the road she gets 19 mpg with the air on and 20 mpg without. She’s nice and clean as you can see from the pictures. She has been in the family for 10 Years. She had 18K miles on her when we bought her. She was owned by an avid Colorado climbing couple. He had a stroke before they could really enjoy Shelly. The dent on the hood came with Shelly as did the scratches on the air dam and the ding on the passenger side view mirror. The stone chips on the grill are from Colorado roads. The driver’s side view mirror scratch came from a pickup truck with set of 5th wheel mirrors backing out of the parking space next us. We got the scratch, he bought a new mirror. There is a scratch on the back hatch, it’s hard to see but it is there. Its from a confrontation with a campground tree branch in a wind storm. The back hatch privacy curtain shows a little sun fading. I hope I have recounted all the things that keep Shelly from being a perfect lady. Many of our past Ebay buyers have posted that we do a good job of describing our wares. I hope we have done so again. But - Please, Please Ask Questions. Others things you may want to know. Current milage is less than 124K. VIN is WV2EH8706XH000679 & Title is Clear. The original Radio/Tape player was replaced with a Kenwood KDC-X579 CD-Receiver. It has a removable face to discourage thieves. It plays regular CD and MP3/WAV discs through the front & rear stereo speakers. A MP3/WAV disc can hold over 9 hrs of your custom play list at 224 kbps, more at lower bit rates. The unit also has a iPod input and wireless remote control and has many many more features like auto phone call mute, audio sound conturing, song title display. The Owners Manual is included. Care and Maintenance: We have done the VW maintenances (60 & 120K) and done regular lubrication, tire rotation, alignment, balancing while we have owned the vehicle. It has a set of Michelin Agilis Light Duty Truck Tires. EVC owners seem to like them as they give a comfortable ride but still take the corners nicely. We replaced them as needed between 90K and 103K. We have maintained the brakes. I just had them inspected and they got a good clean bill of health. All the Air Conditioner components have been replaced over time except for dash elements. It works well. The windshield has been replaced - eliminating stone chips. The transmission has been replaced by VW. A new updated Norcold refrigerator was installed winter before last replacing the original. Front axles & tie rods have been replaced. An incident of vandalism causing a dent & scratches to the panel behind the drivers door was repaired. It is not detectable. Seats, Upholstery & Sleeping Pads have no Stains, Holes or Tears. The paint is exceptional for her age and there is no body rust to be found. She has a current North Carolina Inspection and License Tag. She has all the standard Euro Van Camper amenities: Sleeps four, two beds (one in the Pop-Top and one down below. There is a custom foam bed pad which allows extra luggage storage. Three way (AC,DC,Propane) Refrigerator, Two Burner Propane Stove, Kitchen Sink with running water (Electric Water Pump From Supply Tank), Excellent 12,000BTU Thermostat Controlled Propane Forced Air Furnace, Two Dinette Tables, Lots of Storage Space (see Coach Diagram), Electric Powered Shower Nozzle at the rear, Front Reclining Captain Chair that swivel 180 degrees to face back into the coach, Tanks for Fresh Water (12 gal.), Waste (8 gal.) and Propane (5.9 gal./25 lbs.), Three Point Seat Belts for Four - Seating for Five, Convenient Fused Power Center, 110 Volt Convenience Plugs when connected to shore power, Heavy Duty Voltage Rated Shore Power Connecting Cable, Windshield, Side and Rear Privacy Curtains, Reading Lights, Galley Light, 12 Volt Cigarette Lighter Plugs Dash/Cabin/Rear, Roof Vent, Screened Windows & Pop-Top, and more. It’s nice to sit high with a smooth ride. Stretch out while your partner is driving. Stop for tea or a lunch/snack and a cold one when the mood or scene pleases you. We’ve enjoyed sleeping at a parking meter or in parking garages ready for the attraction when it opens. Or parking in camp spot that is too small for most. She is a gem. But alas age is catching up with us. I think it’s time for Shelly to join another family as she did us. She wants to be on the road and into adventures, not in our Coach House summer after summer. We have loved her for the 10 years we’ve had her and the wonderful places she has taken us. We will miss her but even more the memories she has given us and our family. Airports drive times: Asheville N.C. - 1hr. 15 mins., Greenville S.C. - 2 hrs. 30 mins., Charlotte N.C. & Atlanta GA. - 3hrs. Plus. We’d be happy to pick you up at the Asheville Airport.
