Vehicle Detail

VIN 303555 which indicates only the 164th 1966 911 produced, one of the very first sent to the US, in the first year of production for the US. Factory, classic colors: silver exterior and red interior. Exterior primered, interior currently stripped for your pre-restoration inspection (first pics here are pre-disassembly/primer) Story: Seventeen year old me purchased this car in a non running distressed sale (Bellevue home was about to become a skyscraper) with several summers of landscaping enterprise proceeds in 1997 from the owner since 1978. I purchased her in a neglected condition and gave her enough TLC to get her running well and on the road for college, only to be hit at speed by one of my few "homeroom" seminar classmates, and was totaled by the insurance (current salvage title). Fast forward a dozen years, and I've learned I love to work on sculpture (www.ungenda.com) not cars. A swingarm/control arm was replaced at John Walker's Workshop, returning the car to good driving shape. An attempt at body work to repair the impact damage the rear flank was made but will need to be re-bondo'd/glass'd (see crack on left rear). Some rust repair near pedals and deck lid attachments has been completed. According to the previous owner, the engine has about 5,000 miles on a rebuild. It ran well the whole time that I drove it up until when it was parked, but I haven't tried to start it in years and it will need to be gone over before it will run. If you need to place a bid which is conditional upon further assurance on the condition of the engine (compression test, carefully worded warranty, etc), you may contact me and see if we can work something out. However, unless we have explicitly agreed to a protocol, all bids are as is.  Engine is a 1970 911T - the original is out there somewhere ;) Haven't looked for it. Believed to be original transmission. Options including wood steering wheel and AC. 15" Fuchs as well as original steel wheels (appear to be missing one mini-hubcap, it's all yours if/when I find it) Replacement windshield New parts; windshield seal, duck tail deck lid, 911S fronts poiler bumper, with seal. New black carpet kit (floor mats only were lightly used for a few months) . Many red interior donor pieces and seats from a friendly guy I met at John Walker's swap meet. Replacement hood Headlight glass, headlight seals, hood shock Hella HB-2 headlights Body & bumper weatherstrip kit from Performance Parts Extra (original) driver's door, bent in an attempt to push the car! (no collision there) See all pictures of car and parts HERE (passenger door wasn't closed completely, but it does close straight) Note rust such as directly under rear window, on floor, and on rocker panels. John Walker suggested the rocker panels be examined and/or restored to ensure structural stability. Also, as I recall the clutch was starting to slip under heavy acceleration. I am open to in-person inspections, please contact me.
