Being offered is my beautiful, 2005 Volkswagen Passat TDI, turbo-diesel wagon. This has been a spectacular car to own, and has given me zero issues beyond scheduled maintenance items. I am selling only because I now have a company-provided vehicle, and cannot justify having so many cars in my household. All maintenance is up to date, and the car needs nothing at this time. Recent services include: - Oil service, always with synthetic VW spec. 505.01 oil (Pentosin or Lubro-Moly 5w-40), every 5k miles or sooner. - Tire rotation. - New motor mounts. - New transmission mounts. - New fuel filter. - Transmission service with new fluid and filter (Pentosin ATF-1). - Power steering flush and new fluid (Pentosin). - Brake fluid flush and re-fill (Pentosin DOT 4). - New cabin air filter. All filters are either Mahle or Mann. The Passat is loaded with most available options, including: Monsoon Sound with 8-speaker system and CD, 4-way adjustable heated leather seating, power sunroof, cruise control, steering wheel controls, power windows, rear storage privacy screen, trip computer, etc. Tires are Michelins and have at least 75 percent tread remaining. The car returns excellent fuel economy. I drove it daily up and down the Interstate 5 Grapevine at 70-80 mph with the AC on, and fuel consumption of anywhere from 38.8 to 40 mpg. I also drove to Georgia and back with about the same fuel consumption. The car is in overall excellent condition, with some slight imperfections one would expect to see in a car of this age and mileage. I would consider the car to be well above-average. There is zero oil consumption, and absolutely no leaks. Everything works as it should, and the air is ice cold. Only petro-diesel has ever been used. I have never used bio-diesel, or had a waste or vegetable oil system in the car. I thought about replacing the headlight and taillight lenses which have fogged slightly, but decided not to, as some people want to see the originals to make sure the car has not had any collisions. I have always treated the car well and made sure it was serviced ahead of schedule. I also did things like ensure a proper turbo cool-down procedure of 2-3 minutes prior to shut-down after driving. If you’re looking for a hard-to-find Passat TDI wagon, I believe this car would be a great choice. The car is currently garaged and not being used other than an occasional drive.
