You are viewing a l972 Firebird Formula 455 HO ram air!. This car has original factory paint so no hidden bodywork. This car is virtually complete as I have accumulated the majority of the extremely rare, expensive and hard to find parts for it. I had to find an original unitized distributor and carb. These were the only two non original parts missing.They were located and acquired and will be included with the sale. . The body is beginning to rust behind the rear tires and at this point is minimal. The trunk is good and the floorboards will need a small patch on the front drivers side about the size of a half dollar. I am including the PHS to verify the car and its options. Most pontiac guys know that 1972 was a very low production year for the firebird and 455 HO formulas are extremely rare. The car comes with the original motor and transmission. Neither are in the car. Both have been rebuilt. The motor was bored 30 over and forged pistions were used. I had a shift kit installed when I had the transmission rebuilt. Motor- YB- Hl9l 485428 Heads 7F6 both have been rebuilt dated H251 Intake: Factory aluminum 485640 . I don't think the lower pans covering the separate crossover have ever been removed.Original roundport exhausts come with the car. waterpump: 488296 J084 Distributor: Unitizied # 1112133. It is complete. Transmission is Turbo 400 72 PQ lll0 Partial VIN: 22N605ll3. I know it is one digit off but I am confident it is the original tranny. Carb: 7042270 XG 203l. It is original and not a restamp. Comes with rear console in car which is damaged beyond usuage and a decent one I acquired years ago. New taillight bezels with used original lenses. Included also is a very nice undamaged rear plastic or fiberglass tailpanel to replace the original one installed on the car.. It is nice part number: 8789638. I would like to mention that I have lots of misc parts I am including but couldn't photograph. This car has been sitting under my metal roofed shed for over l0 yrs and during that time rodents took over. I have cleaned out the debris but the car does have that odor associated with varmits. It will need a through cleaning to rid the car of it. The original factory ram air hood is there but there are no hood hinges. It is original and comes with the pictured metal wire shields for the front open hood scoops and plates to attach the rubber to the hood. The rubber boots had rotted beyond repair. The factory air components are still attached as well as the power steering and power brakes. All wiring is intact but some may be rodent damaged. The original console and linkage is still installed. I also have the rear window molding and it is nice and undamaged. I may not have the lower body molding. I removed it years ago to have it repaired and I may not be able to find it. . All the tinted glass is intact and usuable. All in all this is a great project. I will assist in loading the car but it can not be picked up or delivered until all funds have cleared my bank. I will provide a good clear Mo title for this vehicle.I will ship this vehicle world wide if the reserve is met. I have lowered my reserve and added a buy it now price. The pictured lower ram air pan is correct for the 455 HO and not the 400 unit with only one heat riser on the bottom. Mine has two. This is a very rare car and priced well below market value for the hard to find parts and a car of this rarity. It is truly numbers matching and very hard to come by. One of rear frame rails has rust through. It will need replaced or repaired. The driver side is good with surface rust only. The passenger side near the very back will need the repair. This is not a rust bucket but a very restorable car which comes with the ultra rare original roundport motor, exhaust, carb, transmission, etc.
