SUPER CLEAN, nice original 1991 Volvo 240 GL sedan. The timeless classic "brick" Volvo many of us grew up with. This example is a beautifully preserved 4-door 244 in GL trim, in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, as it is duly reflected on the photos. A two-owner 240, its current owner a youn lady for the last 3 years. She just finished med school down in Southern California, and does not not really want a car in SF due to the hassles with street cleaning and limited parking. Originally sold new in California, it has always lived its life here; first with the original owner since new, and then in Laguna Beach. As such, it is absolutely 100% RUST-FREE, without a single bubble, scratch, dent or rust spot ANYWHERE on the car. Additionally, the EXCELLENT interior upholstery also reflects its well-kept condition. This Volvo has 160K original miles, which is unusual on a 240 of this vintage. Excellent, super reliable B23 4-cylinder motor, well known for its longevity. It starts up immediately, idles very well ( as it should always), and drives great on the freeway. No overheating, oil leaks or odd noises. This one is equipped with the M71 4-speed Automatic transmission ( 3 normal Drive gears plus Overdrive), along with standard 4-wheel Power disc brakes and Power Steering. It also has factory AC and front seat warmers, a convenience if you live in a cold climate. Being a GL model, and in true Swedish no-nonsense style, it has power windows, manual adjust sideview mirrors, sunroof and no power seats ( which equates to less things to break down and NO mechanic bills to repair electric gadgets!). It does have a nice, functional stereo CD player. The body of this 240 is, as noted earlier, in EXCELLENT condition, with NO dents, scratches, repaints, oxidation, and most importantly, ZERO RUST throughout the whole car. Perfect chassis, doors, door sills, window sills, floorboards, fenders, quarter panels, hood, trunk, trunk floor, engine bay and windshield areas. The car also still has its factory-original finish, which still shines nicely after all these years. It is its original champagne/ light pewter finish. The interior of the car is as well remarkably clean, with NO cuts, rips, splits or unraveling of the stitching on any of the seats, including both front bucket seats and the top of the rear seat ( which is usually damaged and all split open and ripped-up from sun exposure). Clean dashboard, with two hairlines, not a dozen splits, a common ailment on 240 Volvos. As with all real 240s, the interior is spartan, simple and basic, but functional as it is expected from a true Volvo. The car has NEVER had pets in it, children or loaded cargo or towed anything. It has been off snow and has not seen a salted road in its life. Its condition reflects it in the photos, better than any statements. Last major service within the last 18 months have been all-new brakes, new radial tires ( they are currently at about 80% tread left), battery, BOSCH MAF sensor ( airflow meter), and a rblt starter. Overall, a very clean, rust-free classic Volvo 240, with super strong, reliable powertrain, excellent cosmetically, with no issues. It is listed here with a reasonable opening bid and no reserve. There are a few other 240s listed on Ebay for cheaper, but in rough condition, with a million miles and usually covered in rust ( beware of east coast & midwest cars, where it snows heavily and roads are salted), a cancer that is impossible to be stopped and will destroy the car over time. But, as with everything else, you get what you pay for. This is an opportunity to purchase a very clean, rust-free Volvo for a very modest asking price, with remarkably low-miles for its year, that has been preserved well in the benign northern California weather.
