VINCheckSM is updated regularly as additional information is reported. 1977 Ford Thunderbird. Approximately 54,500 miles 5.0 V8 Automatic. Purchased early 2011 from a dealer in The Plains, Ohio. I was told by the dealer that this was originally in someone’s private collection in Illinois who had a model of every Thunderbird and was driven to Ohio when sold a few years ago (cannot confirm) I do not have any history with the car but judging by the condition of the seats and steering wheel alone it does not look like it was driven much. Ice cold air conditioning with all air conditioning parts replaced 2011/2012 at much expense. New adjustable shocks on rear, Original FM/AM radio, great condition seats and interior with no apparent cracks or tears. Working cruise control, headlight covers close and open, brand new white wall spare tire. I take this car out in dry weather every week, and run the engine weekly in the garage during the winter. In the trunk are the 1977 tags it was originally issued with, and I also have a spare set of Thunderbird wheel trims which I will include in the sale. Also have two sets of keys. I bought this car as I was impressed by the way it did not seem to be “molested”; i.e. no aftermarket stereo / speakers or other inappropriate modifications. I have owned this car for nearly 2 years, it lives in my garage (not stored outside) and am only selling due to getting another classic. This car has also been used by the Columbus Washboard Company for promotion. An honest, driveable classic with a few bits of rust here and there, the most noticable flaws are on the top of the drivers' side front wing and a patch on the roof where the paint has peeled to a 50c piece, and there is some bubbling on the front of the hood but still looks sharp. I have looked after this car and have had it garage stored with no winter driving. I have taken this on several 100+ mile journeys; the only problem I encountered was I had to have a hose on the radiator replaced as it had a pin prick sized hole. It has never let me down in the time I have had it. This car is not showroom perfect; it is after all 35 years old but is a great example. In my opinion it is a great useable car which can be driven immediately and enjoyed. I always get admiring glances when people see it out and about. All work on this car since I have had it has been undertaken professionally and sympathetically with an eye towards keeping it as original as possible by Ohio Valley Autos in Logan, Ohio. Harold the owner will be pleased to confirm that at least $2300 has been spent on this car by me over the last two years. I have tried to be as honest as possible, I am not a mechanic or a car dealer so the car is sold as is, with no warranty either inferred or offered. I am a keen car enthusiast with only maintenance knowledge on vehicles, so all work has been trusted to my local garage that deal with classics. This is a genuine owner sale, I do not buy or sell cars with the intention of making a profit. Feel free to ask any questions. Anybody wishing to come see the car please email me before end of auction. Please remember you are bidding to buy, not to come tire kick and decide if you want to buy. All bids are binding. Winning bidder is to pay deposit by PayPal immediately after auction, and payment to be received within 5 days. if I do not receive payment within time frame specified I will file a complaint and will relist (sorry, no exceptions. We have probably all had problems with time wasters on eBay before) I am an easy person to work with, so if you are the winning bidder please stay in contact with me to ensure a smooth sale! Thanks for looking :)
