Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Built Z-28 needs work*You tube video taken today @ http://youtu.be/tec1K2H5cqU if you want to hear it run and drive around the block also shows some of the issues and new electric QTP cut out that goes with it. This car needs TLC. I don’t have the time or money to put into it anymore due to college so I’m letting her go. This car will be great for someone who wants to fix it up, bid accordingly, no tire kickers you’re more than welcome to take a look before you bid and I encourage anyone interested to do so it is impossible to describe an older project car like this to someone completely without them seeing it, hopefully the video helps. This car is being sold AS-IS the problems I’ve listed are just the ones that come to mind I haven’t driven this car on the street in years so expect there will be other issues. Please don’t e-mail me asking if I would recommend driving this car home ect... I’m describing it as honestly as I can it fires right up and runs but needs work to be driven legally in an emissions county and reliably everyday (read the rest of this description). That said I use to drive to work and back every day and it does have good street manners, was very controllable and fun to drive. There has been a ton of time and money invested in this car and it will be an awesome toy for the right person, bid accordingly. Modifications Engine rebuilt less than 5,000 miles ago Forged speed pro pistons CC 503 cam CC 1.6 magnum roller rockers and CC valve springs/ pushrods /guide plates LT-4 knock sensor (For roller rockers and cam ) PCM tune Mizire electric water pump Long tube headers X-pipe Flowmasters Dump cut out I’ll include a new electric QTP cut out I haven’t installed MSD 8.5 Wires Newer stuff Optispark Alt/ Battery Serp belt/ Tensioner Transmission / Rear end 3000 stall Yank converter 3.73 gears Transmission was rebuilt with some modifications before I bought it in 06 I believe but I don’t know at what mileage or year exactly Interior Auto Meter vac and trans temp gauges Equuis gauges Exterior 18” ZO6 rims in the rear 17” SS rims in front Ebach lowered suspension SS hood SS spoiler Billet grill Some of the work needed A/C compressor pulley is loose and making a thumping or knocking noise *sometimes* at low rpm's needs to be replaced or deleted, fairly common problem with the LT1's. Oil pressure is good and when I run it without the belt its quiet and there is some slack in the A/C pulley leading me to suspect it. Car is shutting down sometimes, it seems to do it after running for a few minutes and I’ve replaced the ignition module thinking it was getting hot but it still has the problem. I’m not sure what it is at thispoint but suspect the ig switch or MAF may be intermittent. It will usually start back up and run after a few minutes and if the wires going to the MAF and coil are jiggled it seems to help also if its running fine and you jiggle those wires it will want to die so they need to be replaced but I don’t have time to mess with is so cant guarantee that’s the only issue. Cat converter not installed I haven’t driven this car on the street since 08 and both tags (inspection and registration) have been out since then. I will include the old converter if you live in an emissions county and want to drive it on the street. ABS inop light is on, brakes seem to work fine I’ve never had this code read. Exterior Paint is cracking and chipping in some areas especially around the spoiler, there are a few dents the worst one is under the passenger side door on the rocker panel. The car got hit lightly in the rear before I bought it and looks fine the only issue is the trunk lock doesn't line up exactly with the hole. The hatch opens and closes fine you just have to crawl back and do it by hand. Needs to be bent out. Lots of smaller defects consistent with a 94 Interior Tint is peeling PWR door lock bezels are broken Center console flip lid is broken No radio or speakers Squeaks and some missing screws bolts ect Rear fender plastic covers missing Carpet needs cleaning has some holes under drivers side mat Tear in driver’s seat Fuel gauge is in-accurate… jump’s around
