Vehicle Detail
This is a nice work-in-progress 1971 BMW 2800CS that can be used as is as a daily driver, and is fun to drive. It has new front discs, new brake pads (front) and shoes (rear), new Bilstein shocks front and rear, and electronic ignition. The engine runs fine, though the carbs could use some adjustment - there is a bit of hesitation if the accellerator is pressed slowly. Also, there is a small hole where the exhaust pipe connects to the muffler. The auto trans shifts fine. Has Momo aftermarket wood steering wheel as shown in the pictures. Most electrical items/gauges are working, but not the clock, horn or the windshield wipers. Has A/C, but I haven't tried to recharge it. There are several internal trim items that need to be installed, as shown in the pictures, including the inside door panels, the rear side panels, arm rests, sun visors, etc. I also have an extra set of carbs and a Getrag manual transmission, which are included. Please ask questions if you have them - I am not an expert on these cars but will try to answer as best as I can. The paint job is decent, with a few dings and chips. Please note that Ebay required a mileage number to be specified - the odometer currently says 4845 miles, I believe that means 104845, but do not know for sure. The car is in Hollywood CA - I recommend that you come inspect the car before bidding. The car is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Car is sold As Is.
