Vehicle Detail

Ultra classic, TWO OWNER 1964 Mercedes Benz 220 S B "heckflosse" sedan. This is an early W111 bodied fintail sedan, still in original, unrestored condition. Completely original MBZ, originally purchased brand-new by the original owner at old Mercedes Benz dealership on Van Ness Avenue, in downtown SF. Two local owners since new. Second owner purchased it from the original owner 22 years ago, where it had been in dry storage for the last few years. Owner has moved to NY, and reluctantly it is listed for sale. This 220s B still retains its ORIGINAL 1964 BLACK PLATES. Completely original, READY TO DRIVE, turn-key condition 220s B Heckflosse. Remarkable for a forty eight year-young Benz! The car is completely original, still in the old original paint, with NO DENTS and NO ACCIDENTS. All sections of the full frame, all floorboards, doors, door sills, trunklid, trunk floor, engine bay, hood, rocker panels and quarter panels are rust free. A couple of smal little spots as pictured. I removed the original factory carpeting to inspect underneath, and the car has super clean, all-original floorboards.~! The stock, original 2.3L inline six-cylinder engine runs GREAT; it starts immediately and idles like a clock. Drives very well in the freeway. 101K original miles. Completely stock, with its original SOLEX 2V dual carburetors, which are nicely synchronized, and idle fine, with no leaks or surging. NO oil leaks, no exhaust leaks, NO knocking, pinging or any internal or external engine noises. It maintains full oil pressure of 45 lbs. and holds its temperature at normal mid-low on the gauge. SUPER NIFTY, COLOR CHANGING SPEEDO~! Rebuilt water pump, brake master and clutch master cylinders, timing chain cover seals and recent battery. This 220s is equipped with the desirable factory four-speed manual transmission, with the shifting lever on the column. The transmission shifts EXCELLENT into all four forward and reverse gears. There is NO gear grinding, or any odd noises. The clutch grabs well at mid-point, with NO slippage, chatter or grinding. No howling noises from the differential nor axle bearing noises. As mentioned, the body is in remarkable shape for such an old Mercedes. The interior is in average condition, given the age of the car. It had sheepskin seat covers in front, but I removed them so that the condition could be seen. SUPER NICE DASH. The headliner is still fine, not hanging or drooping; the door panels are in EXCELLENT shape. The dash is in great condition for the age of the car. All its chrome trim and interior trim is complete and in very nice shape; the photos show its overall condition clearly. Old, unusual alarm system still works! NICE stock correct-size 13" tires (with at least 70% tread remaining), mounted on its original MBZ 13" steel wheels with original MBZ hubcaps all the way around. The chrome is complete and still in remarkable shape for its age. Original ivory steering wheel, with its original center pad, and still has its original leather covering. Overall, a super classic W111 Fintail 220s B, in unrestored condition. Priced with a very modest opening bid and NO RESERVE. CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE, with its original black plates. Smog emissions exempt of course. * Feel free to EM or call me with questions, or if interested in making a BUY-IT-NOW offer at (650) 430-4660. Should you be the winning bidder, payment is to be received within three business days from the end of the auction, please. Payment methods are money orders or cashier checks. Personal, business or others may be used, but will need to clear funds prior to any transportation arrangements being made. Another method would be bank wire transfer to our local CHASE Bank branch in San Mateo. It expedites the process considerably, and allows for a speedier transport/ delivery of the car. Finally, PAYPAL may be used if previously arranged between buyer and seller, PRIOR to making a bid, and PRIOR to the end of the auction. Upon receipt of payment, I will immediately send you the title and bill of sale to the car. I shall be glad to arrange/ coordinate transport or delivery of this super cool classic Benz to any location nationwide or overseas, at the shipper's cost. I will do my best to find the most economical shipping rate available. Thank you for your interest~!
