Up for sale is a 1988 Cadillac Allante Convertible with less than 90K original miles. This is a rare car nowadays. Roughly 20K of these cars were ever produced between 1987 and 1993. The bodies were imported from Italy on a special plane to the Cadillac assembly line in the US where they were mounted to the drive train and chassis. This was Cadillac's attempt to compete in the high end European 2 door convertible market. It's an 8 cylinder front wheel drive car with lots of power and a real joy to drive. The digital dash is really cool and like flying an airplane. These cars are becoming more and more collectible as they become harder to find. Car runs and drives. She's pretty in black but was originally red. The previous owner told me the Red paint and clear coat was shot and he liked black anyway so he had it repainted at MAACO. It's not perfect but not terrible either. Although the Autocheck says there were no accidents, the front bumper cover does not look to be off of an Allante. Again, not terrible looking but an Allante enthusiast would know the difference. The previous owner changed out the factory rims for the chrome one's that are on it. The rims alone will cost you my Buy It Now price so the car is a steal whether you want it for parts or as a daily driver. Cosmetically, she could use a good interior and exterior cleaning and several trim items re-fastened. Driver seat stitching needs to be re-done and things need to be tightened up all around. I would change the fluids, plugs, wires, flush the coolant and trans, etc. for use as a daily driver. The convertible roof frame is missing some nuts, bolts and components for the convertible roof closing mechanism so plan on using a bungee cord to hold the roof down when open or closed. It will open and close manually. Headliner is deteriorating. A/C does not work currently and says it needs a "recharge" on the car's Info Center when you try to use it. Driver's Tailight has crack. Most if not all power functions and radio work. As is where is with no warranties expressed or implied. Non-refundable $250 deposit upon auction close or immediately with Buy it now. I have a lot more money in it than the Buy It Now price so my loss is your gain. I cannot garage the car so it must go.
