Vehicle Detail
This is a great truck. I've had it for what seems like, forever. I bought it used in the summer of 2003. It had 30,000 miles on it when I got it, but that didn't seem to matter at all through the life of the truck. It's performed very very well for me through out the last 9 years. Now it's just older, but still very able bodied and strong. I bought her with the hopes that someday I would get a boat, and use her to pull it. It wasn't for six more years till I got that boat and put her to her intended purpose. She has done extremely well as a daily driver, my cross country companion, and as a very capable boat puller. Now the Army has moved me to downtown Washington D.C. and I have no use for her (sold the boat). In 2009, I had a fender bender with her that put the car in front of me's trailer hitch through the radiator, in the course of the repairs, the body shop let her idle with no coolant and she cooked her rings. So... she got a new engine at 110,000 miles. That's good news to you. First, the engine that she has is much younger than her frame, only three years on her engine, but more importantly, that new engine is tried and proven. She has pulled my boat cross country and done all of her duties as my daily driver for the last 20,000 miles with this new engine and I can say that it is as good, if not better, than her first. I haven't babied her at all. She's a work/daily truck and looks like it. Her dash is cracked. badly. Typical of these models. She doesn't have a CD player (that was after her time). She has some scrapes and dings. Most notably a big one in front of her back left (passenger) wheel. The parking garage just wasn't built for an extended cab pickup. What can I say? Ooops. She has the small V8, which is a real blessing, I think. She is a strong as she needs to be. Could pull my 22' boat anywhere I asked, but when unloaded and on the highway, she'll get a solid 20 MPG if you keep her speed under 72. That's a very versatile engine in my book. She has almost brand new tires. Less that 2000 miles on them. Cooper Discovery's. Very nice tires and built for great highway use. I live in Arlington, VA, and can drive the truck to anywhere within 100 miles for a show. Alternatively, if you fly in to Reagan (DCA) I'll meet you at the airport and you can take her for a spin. I think you will be truly impressed by this truck, and better yet, at the price. I'm selling her in an open auction, opening bid at $2600. Any bid higher than that gets her. After that, she's going to the highest bidder. I will list her locally, on Craigslist, and reserve the right to pull down this listing if I get a local sale. Good luck and Happy Bidding.
