Vehicle Detail
Summer cleaning at JB's place. For your viewing and bidding pleasure 1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. I have way too many cars, and due to health and home issues, some have to go. This is a running, driving, insured, registered cruiser to which I have a clear California Title. The car needs some help, but you can drive it while you fix it. THIS CAR DOES NOT HAVE A/C. THE GOOD From 20 feet, not too bad. I get positive remarks when I'm out and about. The single exhaust is about 3 years old and was replaced from the manifolds back (including manifold bolts) and sounds like a typical 389. The Pep Boys tires are about 2 years old and can't have more than 1000 miles on them, as the car is only driven locally,Equipment includes the following power items..Steering, Brakes,Windows, Seat,Antenna and Wind Wings *(Vent Windows)*.Spinner hubcaps. All 4 windows will roll up and down with some effort. The passenger wind wing works. The Steering and brakes work, though the brakes are a little grabby. This car has the original stock 389 4 Barrel engine as verified thru PHS when I got the car about 3 years ago. The engine runs very well once warmed up, and the transmission works in accordance with the old hydramatics, though it leaks more than usual. THE BAD The rocker moldings are missing. The chrome is flaking off of the bumpers.A previous owner chopped the radio spot in the dash to put in aftermarket stereo. The windshield has a small chip. The doors do not hang properly. The seat works only one direction. The passenger door does not open from outside. There are holes drilled in the rear quarters as the car had aftermarket skirts which bolted to the body when I got it. The paint job is loaded with orange peel, and the body is not laser straight, though I couln't find much in way of rust on the body, at least with my refrigerator magnet. There are a few small rust holes in the trunk. Right tail lens cracked. The doorpanels are missing and the quarter armrests have been drilled for aftermarket speakers. The top has a few tears and will need replaced as the vinyl window is smoked. The top motor does not work. The factory top switch is gone as is the master switch for the wind wings, and the antenna does not work. THE UGLY The frame has rust, especially from the transmission crossmember going to the back. Looks like it's already been braced in the rear section. I'm not sure that it would be easily repairable.....it may need a frame replacement, though 2 guys with airtools could knock it out in a weekend. Ive hung a few frames when I was younger and healthier. It looks like it sat on it's butt in the mud for awhile. Rear seat is original. Front seat has been redone in vinyl. This is a no reserve auction, so bid early and bid often Any questions? 661-722-0979 9am*pm or go thru ask seller link. Thanx for looking. JB The gas gauge and clock do not work. Looks to be a problem with the charging system, though the car has a recently installed rebuilt alternator. This bomber will easily blow away most Mustangs, Impalas, Galaxys or whatever you can serve up from that era (unless it's wearing a K-code, 427 or a Hemi) I will try to provide a video test drive on Saturday, if I can figure out how to upload the thing. Good luck.
