I have a 1977 Mercedes Benz 450SL Convertible for sale. The car runs nicely, but the transmission fluid leaks severely. The leak appears to be coming from the front seal. This engine has 109,000 miles on it, it was taken from another Mercedes. The odometer reads 120,000 miles, I do not know if this is accurate. I have black interior parts from another mercedes as well that need to be installed. The body is very straight. There are very few dents or dings, however there is minor rust. The front of the front right wheel well did not drain properly (where it meets the frame) and the pooling created a rust spot, which has been cut out (see picture). This did not affect the frame or the exterior quarter panel, so it is not visible from the outside of the car. The other rust spot is underneath the gas cover. This also did not drain properly, however, the rust only appears to be surface rust and did not breach through the panel. This car requires some additional work. Aside from the interior swap labor, the only issues I can think of to add are the following: 1) the two very curable rust spots (as described above); 2) the fuses for the windows blew after I replaced them once, so there is likely a an electrical issue within the window circuit; 3) The air conditioning system is drained and it has not been tested; and 4) the transmission leak.
