Vehicle Detail

This 1988 AMC Eagle is daily driver quality.  It would be a daily driver except I have too many daily driver quality vehicles to drive daily. It was the amceaglenest forum Eagle of the Month, May 2009. Located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Clear title. Papal, please.  $500 deposit within 3 days and payment in full within 7 days. Arkansas does not have vehicle inspections.  The lucky buyer will be responsible for inspections.   If the buyer wants it transported we will help load it but cannot arrange shipping.   It has the dependable AMC 4.2 liter inline six cylinder that served AMC cars and Jeeps so well for many years. Automatic transmission. The excellent shift-on-the-fly 4 wheel drive system is unsurpassed when driven as intended.  It is unibody with independent front suspension and is not conducive to easy lifting. This is the last model of the 4 wheel drive Eagles that American Motors Corporation built from 1980 – 1988.  Some people think there are no 1988 model Eagles.  Most, it not all vehicles, are built the year before they are sold.  This 1988 was built in 1987 and sold as a 1988 model. We bought it with about 95,500 miles December 2005. We bought it on eBay in Philadelphia and drove it home to Little Rock. It now has about 127,000 miles.  It is driven occasionally so mileage is subject to change.  All the following repairs and upgrades have been made within the last 32,000 miles. Belts and hoses have been replaced as necessary. At 112000 miles the transmission and torque converter were rebuilt. The instrument cluster wiring behind the dash was replaced. Upper ball joints, lower control arm bushings, tie rod ends, pitman arm, idler arm, thrust rod bushings, steering damper replaced.  The boot on one upper ball joint tore early on.   I keep grease in it to keep out the dirt. Front and rear springs replaced, new front shocks and new rear coil over shocks. 3 core radiator. Exhaust manifold/gasket, power steering pump and hoses replaced, though there may be an exhaust leak somewhere below the carb. Cat back exhaust including Dynomax muffler. Fuel pump. Timing set and valve cover gasket replaced at 125000. Motorcraft 2150 carb and all the modifications that implies. ECM bypassed for bench testing. 40,000v Petronix coil, oversized distributor cap with adapter, 8 mm plug wires, newer plugs gapped to .045. Newer ICM. It starts and runs well and does not use oil. Right front has been damaged and some parts replaced from other vehicles, including a  grill from 1979 Concord.  All power windows work.  Power seats work. Power door locks: driver works all the time, front passenger and rear driver sometimes, and rear passenger never. Rear wiper works.  Rear defroster partially works – middle of the grid works.  Some wires have been repaired and the others probably could, as well. Rear washer does not work.  New washer pump included. Aftermarket Blauplumptk with AM FM CD player works. Cruise control works. Good P215/65/R15 tires. American Racing Outlaw II wheels. Brake job: master cylinder, flexible hoses and one metal line, new rotors and drums, pads and shoes, wheel cylinder kits replaced at about 108,000 miles. Heater core has been replaced. AC works; it has been upgraded to R134.  Compressor replaced. Heater works. Frame has been repaired, front, both sides.  There are surface rust spots.  Some rust can be seen through the paint on the doors. The only rust through I know about is in the spare tire well.  The floors are solid. Spare and jack are included. The windshield is good, with no cracks or chips.  It has been replaced and does not leak. Some door strikers have been replaced with bushing-less posts. Half shafts have been replaced with new. Front wheel bearings have been replaced since we have had the Eagle. Wood grain vinyl has been replaced. New ac evaporator. Sylvania Performance headlights. Hand painted mudflaps have survived long enough and enough weather to make me think they will last much longer. Good cargo cover retracts. Good cargo area carpet.  Driver side front carpet is worn.  A  new set of floor mats is included. Excellent interior, including headliner, seats, dash, etc., - and a rare intact hood release knob. I have tried to be thorough in listing both good and bad aspects.  Please ask any questions you may have.   I really want to keep my perfect ebay rating. Thanks for looking.
