Vehicle Detail
This is a 1997 Buick LeSabre with 164,985 miles. The original engine died when the intake manifold cracked, and it has a remanufactured engine with only about 20,000 miles on it. That alone is worth $1200. The car does need work. If you're handy with cars, this is a good deal. If you need to pay someone to fix it for you, this car won't be worth it. As for me, I've fixed enough cars and am ready to move on and get something else. :)Work that it needs now is the intake manifold gasket is leaking and needs to be replaced, and the oil pan bolt is leaking. Parts to replace these are fairly cheap. The labor for the gasket is the killer, unless you're willing to do it yourself, which, after a house fire last year, I'm just not anymore. :) There is also a crack in the windshield that doesn't obstruct view at all, but will need to be replaced sometime in the next few years. The battery also drains if it sites too long without driving it (as is common on these models) but this one seems to go faster. Again, some time with a voltmeter would probably resolve that, which I don't feel like spending. Lastly, their is a leak in the air compressor somewhere, which I found shortly before the gasket started leaking, so I haven't fixed that either. If you're willing to put a little work into it, you'll have a pretty nice car for a really good price. You can connect it and it works, but there's a short somewhere and it will randomly turn on and sometimes stay on. Not fun to have happen in a driveway at 3 am. So it's unplugged. Just glad I remembered that before it hit reserve. :P
