Up for auction is a 1969 American Motors AMX. This vehicle is is very good condition and is about 80% restored to its original condition. It does have a problem with the brakes. It will need a driver side caliber. We replaced the passenger side caliber, put in new brake pads and replaced the master cylinder and brake booster. The brakes are still weak. This car has the original AM radio. We purchased this vehicle about three months ago and was a father son project. The motor is very strong and turns over with the first crank. The previous owner had put in a new raditor, new manifold, new eldebrock carb, new tires, new wiring harness, new gas tank, new rear brake which included new drums and all the lines, new trunk liner, new rear shocks, new seat covers, new headliner, new carpets, new battery, ect. The light work, turn signal works, wipers work. The engine turns over without giving it gas. Body is straight, no surface rust. We had to replace the passenger side trunnion. We also replaced the strut bushings and replaced the front shocks with new gas shocks. The car has been undercoated. About the only thing left to replace after the right brake caliper is the lower ball joints and tie rod ends. They looked ok and we didn 't replace them. This car has the 343 go package and the paint closely matches the original paint. A scarce car that runs good and looks good. I am selling this vehicle because of health issues.
