2 Vintage GATES Display Rack Hangers Gas Station Sign We just finished building this rat truck. It started out as a 1947 1/2 ton truck. It has a clear Montana title as a '47 Ford truck. Be sure to view the video below. The '47 roof was chopped 4" and the body was channeled 6-1/2". The boxed frame was Z'd under the box approx 11" and we stuck the 1936 Ford axle out front suicide style. The axle has a panhard bar incorporated. The cab 5-1/2" off the ground. The Grill is off a 1936 Ford truck and was trimed to fit. All new solex glass and note: I broke the lower right of the right side windshield. New windshield seal. The box was shortened about 2 foot. Headlights are 1946 Chevy truck and the tailights are of a 1946 Chevy schoolbus. Note: the tailights were modified so that the upper portion is the tailight, the middle section (STOP) is the brake light and the lower section is turn signals. The tires are new bias ply COKER B.F.Goodrich wide whitewalls. The fronts are 6.00-16 and the rears are 7.50-16. Rims are stock era Ford that were powdercoated. Front axle spindles and brakes are original to the truck with new shoes and wheel cylinders. The rear axle is an 8.8 w/3.55 gears out off a '92 Ford Ranger. Driveshaft made by Missoula Drivelines. New battery is under the floorboards. New 1-1/8" bore corvette style master and 7" booster are also under the floorboards. All new brake lines w/porportioning valve. New engine motor mounts and speedway crossmember support a 1969 Lincoln 460 CI 4 barrel motor according to the engine casting numbers on the bottom of the block. The heads are 10-1/2 to 1 high compression also proper 1968/9. Compression test checked good w/lowest cylinder at 150 pounds. The headers are speedway kit and have Car Chemistry baffleing discs installed. Should be quiet enough for most states. Steering is stock '47 attached to a 1935 Ford 2 ton box. New hiem joint drag link connects it to the spindle. The radiator is a Champion 3 row alluminum for 1932 Ford w/modern 2 spout fittings. It is cooled bu a 16" - 2150 CFM electric pusher fan. Wiring harness is EZ WIRING and the new quad gauges are programable type. The 2 beer kegs are for gas and are coupled below the bed. The have aworking fuel gauge. The alternator is wired with the 1 wire conversion. I am sure I missed something but do not hessitate to contact me with any questions. My reserve covers my parts and supplies only.... NO LABOR.... Feel free to contact me on payment arrangements. It still needs the windshield wipers hooked up. and e-brake cable from the cab to the frame under the cab and felt window channels for the doors. The original heater is mounted to the firewall, but needs one of the tubes re-soldered to be functional. I will be out of town from Sept. 22nd - 29th.
