Vehicle Detail
I am offering my mostly restored 1969 Triumph GT6+ (MK II) for sale to some lucky buyer. I have spent the last couple of years working on the car, though it still has a few things that should be done to it. These include replacing the master brake cylinder, reconnecting a couple of vent hoses behind the dash, tightening the hand brake, and hooking up the horn. Why am I selling this stylish and rare car, the most coveted in the Triumph GT6 series? Well, at 6’ 3” and facing knee replacement surgery, it’s just become too hard for me to get in/out of the car. But it’s a joy to ride and the engine is in top condition. Someone is going to enjoy this car very much and all the attention it gets on the road. Here’s a list of the work and upgrades that have been made to the car since originally purchased in Phoenix: Rebuilt 6-cylinder engine Rebuilt 5-speed Ford Type 9 transmission Rebuilt rear differential New, uprated radiator for better cooling New electronic ignition New air filters New chrome bumpers New knock-on 13” tubeless chrome wire wheels and tires New interior, including carpeting, headliner and visors New walnut dash New steering wheel (original also available) Refurbished gauges (odometer shows just under 3,000 miles) New outside mirrors New wipers New battery New ivory white paint exterior paint with dark British racing green stripe I am looking for a cash purchase via PayPal and have no interest in another car that I can’t fit in. Call Chris at 925-963-2195. Serious buyers only, please. On Aug-17-12 at 09:26:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I am offering my mostly restored 1969 Triumph GT6+ (MK II) for sale to some lucky buyer. This was a conversion kit specifically designed for the GT6 for those who wanted a true 5-speed that offered better performance versus simply adding overdrive and risking other headaches. Here's a link to the site where I sourced the transmission. You will see that it sells for $3,000 alone. This is one reason why the car runs so well. I regularly beat my buddy in his 1969 MGB GT, though that's a darn sweet car, too. http://www.quantumechanics.com/categories.php?op=newindex&catid=5
