Vehicle Detail

ALL ORGINAL NEVER MOLESTED 1984 STUDEBAKER AVANTI Because Avanti Has Such A Great Place In US Automotive History A Short Story Should Be Told In 1961, Rayond Loewy and his design team were commissioned by Studebaker to design the Avanti. As soon as it was off the drawing board, and even in the midst of perhaps the most imaginative period in automotive history, the Avanti inspired design claimed the status of a classic. Loewy's reputation as the premier American industrial designer of the twentieth century was forever secured. The Avanti name was taken from the Italian word "FORWARD", and was aptly named. A complete inspiration, a star from its very inception, this automobile has led the design and tectnology wave of the auto manufacturing world. Conceived as the American alternative to the coveted luxury motorcars of Europe and the Continent, the Avanti is a handcrafted tribute not only to the genius of Raymond Loewy, but to the possibilities of man's imagination and ingenuity. Raymond Loewy knew the exhilaration of creation, of exploration, when the Avanti first flowed from his imagination. His design, recognized among his peers as a masterpiece, survived to become a legacy in its own time. From the first Studebaker production in 1963, Avanti's body style has stayed pretty much the same. Through out the years some owners names have changed July 1st 1964 to 1983 Nate Altman along with his partner Leo Newman owned the rights to Avanti. 1984 to 1986 the command of Avanti was lead by Stephen H. Blake and his claim was not to make any major changes to the styling. In 1987 to 2007 the ownerships shifted again to ethanol developer Micheal E. Kelly. Raymond Loewy introduced a breathrough design 50 years ago in a last-ditch attempt to salvage a gasping automaker, the Studebaker Avanti has been called the car that never dies. Avanti build its last car in March of 2007. Now some information about this 1984 unmolested Avanti. I bought the car out of Texas in June of 2005 from the second owner who only owned it for one year. Do to health reasons he was forced to sell the Avanti. At the time the car had 55830 orginal miles and today it has 58960 orginal miles so in 7 years I have put 3130 miles on the vehicle, the yearly average for the 28 year of this Avanti is only 2150 miles per year. The car has always been stored in a heated garage and never driven in the winter. Other than total preventive maintance the only thing I have done is a repaint of Avanti with the orginal color and new tires. This Avanti is a total orginal car from the interior to the wire wheels. Everything works on the car from the power moon roof to the power antenna. The A/C needs a charge but the previous owner replaced the A/C compresser and dryer, updated to 134A. The car runs very strong and smooth and the three speed auto tranmission with over drive shifts with ease. From the 2012 Collector Car Price Guide I'm placing this Avanti between a 3 and a 4 rating, which would bring it to a value of about $8,125.00. A 4 is $5,000.00 & a 3 is $11,250.00 the dollar amount does not consider the 5% add on for leather upholster, 5% for a sunroof and 6% for wire wheels. I would say the car is very close to a 3 rating. 305 Cu.In Engine w/ Computer Command Control & Electronic Ignition-4 speed automatic overdrive GM transmission-Limited slip differentail-Power steering, quick ratio-Power windows-Power door locks-Power remote control mirrors left & right-Power trunk release-Power moonroof-Power front disc brakes-Locking gas door-Tilt Nardi wood steering wheel-Electronic cruise control-Air conditioning-Front reading light-Full leather interior-Full dash instrumentation-Intermittent wiper control-AM/FM Stereo cassettew/ digital tuning, digital clock, high output speakers & automatic antenna-Tinted windows-rear window deicer-Recaro racing adjustable seats-Real wire wheels-Burlwood dash and console-Lighted door entry-Avanti floor mats I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME AS THIS AVANTI IS ALSO LISTED IN THE LOCAL MARKET FULL PAYMENT DO WITHIN 3 DAYS OF END OF AUCTION, CASHIERS CHECK, BANK MONEY ORDER, CASH OR WIRE TRANSFER IN TO MY BANK ACCOUNT.
