Vehicle Detail
Hey folks - this is a great work truck. I've had it for a little over a year but I no longer need it. It is a Ford Econoline 350 with a 7.3L Diesel IDI engine. This is a good running truck that will make a nice work truck for someone. Yeah, it's an oldie, but damn it's a goodie, too. Here are the pluses and minuses. Minuses:--There is a small diesel leak coming from the bottom of the fuel filter. Likely a bad gasket and a quick fix for someone that knows what they're doing.--Like most old trucks of this vintage, it has some leaks. A small coolant leak from under the engine, not sure where, but it hasn't been a problem, no need to regularly refill or anything. Leaks some oil around the pan (probably a gasket issue) and a bit of transmission fluid where the driveshaft enters the transmission. None of these are life threatening. Just keep a general eye on the fluids.--I once floored this truck pretty hard just for the heck of it, and found the gas pedal to be a tad sticky if you push it to the floor. There is no reason for someone to floor this truck ever, but I thought I'd make a note of this.-Hood release needs an adjustment. You have to hold the hood release thing and then tap the middle of the hood. then it pops up. I use a small dowel to hold the hood pull, then go out and tap the hood once, and it pops up. -The tranny slips a bit between 2 and 3. A tiny bit. If you accelerate carefully, or just shift on the column from 1 to 3, you don't have a problem. Plusses:--Super strong 7.3L diesel engine. This motor runs very well. It starts well if warm. If a few days have passed since starting, I shoot a bit of starter fluid into the carb and it roars right up. --POWERFUL! This aint no crappy gas engine.--Lots of life left in this engine, diesels go forever.--This is a heavy-duty truck, dually, E-350, all that good stuff.--Just about everything works fine. Wipers, high beams, lights, heat etc. --Box is BIG! Full 14' and ready for whatever you have.--Box is DRY! I had stuff all winter, spring and summer in the back and it was bone dry. --Brakes are good. Stops very well.--Steering is good. Easy to drive. --Back roll up doors functions without any issues.--U-Haul ramp is still there. Great to have. Works fine.-Box latch and lock works great. -Tires look pretty decent. -CLEAN title-there is a block heater, and it does work! There is still an old arcade game in there as you can see. A dolly, too. Those things aren't included! I'm taking the game and dolly out before the truck sells. I have no reserve on this vehicle. I'm starting it at 99 cents. It's gotta go! We'll sell for whatever it brings. I made a 10 minute plus video showing me driving it today, so that should also give you a good idea of how nice this truck runs. Here is the video link.
