Vehicle Detail
Three years ago I found this poor unique 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible rusting away in a guys backyard. Dodge only made about 2500 of these over 3 years and honestly, I only know of about 500 that are left. I bought it and over the last three year have put over $10,000 into it. We converted it to a manual 5 speed transmission, did a lot of bodywork, and then had the engine rebuilt about 1500 miles ago. It has a dual exhaust system with a Flowmaster and sounds really awesome. It is a cool ride, because it is so unique and so rare and I have used it as a daily driver for the last 3 years. I had the seat redone in a marine grade vinyl so it sheds water and its very comfortable to drive. I do have an interior floor kit that I am including along with a set of OE gauges. Now comes the bad news: It has dents because people in parking lots are careless jerks. The drivers door lower hinge decided to break and the drivers door is not usable until it is fixed (Dukes of Hazard anyone?). The dent in the drivers' door is from me putting the door back in place, but it should pop right out with the appropriate tool. I attempted to refinish the interoir parts, and the paint made for this purpose didn't work very well, so really the interior is gray and red.The most unfortunate news is the completely rebuilt motor was incorrectly assembled and the dirtbag that did the work has skipped town, so I cant exactly get him to fix his mess up. The truck did start at the time of me writing this, but with a pronounced thunking in the bottom end, probably a con-rod. At this point I am heartbroken and no longer posses the desire to fix the truck, so my loss is your gain. This is a no reserve auction and the winner will need to tow it home or to a local shop to have it repaired. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Also all the bumper stickers on the tailgate have been removed. Note: The word shelby in the listing title is only there to assist in searches. This trunk is NOT a Shelby version
