Vehicle Detail
you are bidding on the most photgraphed truck on the west coast. I have taken it up and down the coast and cameras are always there when i look out my window. It is just sooooo fun and unusual and we are starved for that. Awesome camper and awesome truck. I love her and created her and have to sell her so I can create more just like her for people like you who enjoy her and smile. That's my story and i'm sticking to it You are bidding on Matty, my awesome Datsun pick up.Her full name is Matilda. I had always wanted to do a gypsy wagon so made a gypsy camper for matty. I bought her as an interum car while I finished restoring my 1965 bus. She has a freshly rebuilt engine with only 1600 miles on it and runs like a top. Yes, she has a new carrier bearing, new tires, awesome rims and all the comforts of home. I worked all winter making her ready for adoption. Believe me she was not very desirable before, now, she is awesome. I feel like a fairy princess when I camp in her, so her energy is exquisite. Because she is an extra cab, she has shelves for pantry, garage and important to me a shelf for music instruments. You have lots of room for everything you need. I take pride in creating the awesome traveling vehicle, with fuel economy, and lots of space!!!!!!! My name is Sandi and do my art 9 months out of the year in Slab City.People come from all over the world and purchase my art. I do art for art's sake and because I am compelled to create. I am a musician as well. I recycle in my art projects, although all the wood and materials in this project were purchase new, except for the window frames. I was married to a contractor for 17 years and have built many things, including 2 barns. I have been doing construction projects for 40 years. Just wanted you to know that I do know how to build. I have always considered carpentry an art form as well. Color and design are my fortes. I always tend toward an abstract, whimsical for of art. I like to create art that makes people smile. Matty gets a lot of attention everywhere she goes. Matilda has: brand new sheepskin seat covers new red carpet in camper and cab. carpet on shelves for non slip surface an awesome pioneer stereo with a huge box speaker behind the seat. You can hear the stereo with the windows rolled down and cruising. paintings on the inside, consistant with those on the outside. When you open the mouse door, you feel as though you are entering another world. A ballerina doll who looks like a gypsy to adorn your gypsy vehicle> She really is a nice touch. sleeping quarters down the middle and put up during the day. I roll my air mattress and sleeping bag together. It takes up very little space and doubles for a comfy chair during the day two windows in the camper which open for ventilation. They are nice routered frames which I recycled from a 1950's cabinet. They have plexiglas in them and open freely when needed. . a seat just inside, on the spacious carpeted counters. two fold up tables constructed with formica tops for your stove or whatever you may desire to use them for. Uniqueness you won't find in any other traveling vehicle. a wonderful porch for morning coffee and evening wine, constructed of 1X tongue and groove and accented with brass trim and brass nails. a solar panel which will adequitely charge one battery which is in back in a compartment. awesome aluminum rims, wow, too much to mention. I have been painting for 27 years and now know I want to keep painting vehicles. She is my third painted vehicle. The smiles I get and the high fives are so worth it. I sell my art in southern california and I am internationally known. I also have sold art on ebay for years. Some people may remember my user name artbysandi. When I do a vehicle, it is the whole vehicle I focus on, so you get a warm and fuzzy feeling everytime you open a door. Mattie has brand new tires, brakes, carrier bearing, water pump and a complete engine rebuild. She got new pistons and rings and extra care in putting her back together. Last year I painted a hippy bus, 1969 vw bus, in the same style.I had people who were interested in me doing one for them. I promised I would do 2 vehicles a year in my style, so we can get some funnnnnnnnnnnnnnn on the road. You will love the responses Matty elicits from people who see her. End of auction, please contact me and plan on sending a cashier's check. I can't do paypal for this as the fee is too much. Almost forgot to tell you the paint is a wonderful heavy duty rustoleum paint with 3 coats of spar varnish to top it off. She gleams wonderfully. The gypsy camper is made of 3/8 plywood and screwed together and liquid nailed. I made sure that water could not get in anywhere. The floor of the camper is 3/8 plywood as well with new red carpet. There are no leaks. When you travel the tail gate stays down so the doors can have their mouse house look. The doors are tongue and groove 1X4. I used 2x2 for the uprights. It is constructed like a regular house only I used 2x2's instead of 2x4's. Happy bidding Feel free to email questions as I always forget something
