YOU ARE BIDDING ON A ONE OWNER 1971 MERCURY COUGAR XR7 Here is the story on the one owner XR7. I'm really the second owner, I bought the car from a 91 year old lady named Githa Lewis in May 2005. Her husband H.V, Lewis bought the car new from KENJOHNS holland Lincoln/Mercury Dealership in Albuquerque N.M. in Oct. 1971. The car had 58,900 miles on it when I bought it. I put 458 miles on the car in 7 years just to keep the seals and other operational items in good working order. I have to many other projects in the works so the Cougar needs to find a good home to be appreciated. I have the orginal notarized tltle from Githa and H.V.dated Oct. 19th. 1971. Along with the title I have complete service records from KENJONS dealership and other service companies in the area that worked on the car. Here is what the the car needs 1. A/C charge 2. radio does not work but does have a humm 3. a little ruffle on thee rear left quarter pannel 4. front seats need to be re-upholstered 5. new dash pad. The body is very solid with no rust anywhere. The car runs strong and very smooth. Consider this car is 41 years old and only averaged about 1500 miles per year which I'm sure majority of the miles were put on in the first 5 to 8 years of its driving. This is a car that for very little money can be a real head turner and fun XR7 to drive. this is a total numbers matching car.
