Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice driving 1936 Buick I am a avid Buick club member and collector, now making room for earlier prewar Buick's. The known history is, the car was found in the 1960's by last owner. About 25 years ago he had the engine rebuilt, all new brakes and new tires. The car was driven and enjoyed for the next couple of years...... then was put in storage.... 20 years later I found it. The car was trailered to the repair shop and inspected. Engine was found to be free and good compression. brakes were all free and the tires held air and have no cracking. The fluids were changed, fuel system flushed, fuel pump and carberator rebuilt. The cylinders were soaked with marvell oil, then new spark plugs, battery and then it started right up. Then front suspention was found to be very tight. A lube service was performed, all gear oils toped up and coolant changed. I have used it for a daily driver for a short bit and a few freeway trips, it will go 75, but happier at 55-60. The car starts well and auto choke works great. It smokes when first started, then clears up to a very light amount. Seems to get better the more I drive it. Good oil pressure and no noises. Clutch feel good and shifts very well. I inspected the brakes and they look like new , but were done 25 years ago. I would plan on rebuilding all the cylinders and master just to be sure. Very solid body, only spot of rust found was lower lip; of front right door, solid body and trunk area. Bottom lip of rear doors are a little loose but close like a vault. Some of the paint is from the 1950's and some seems original. Paint is thin in spots and has many knicks and scratchs. The interior is all original, seat still have good support. The gauges all work except fuel gauge. Lights, dash lights, tail lights and period trippe light all work. The heater also works well. Steering wheel is nice, no cracks. Chrome on this car is very nice. The car is fun to drive and has been dependable, it is to good to restore as they are only original once. Paint is mostly original and looks a little better in the pictures then real life, but still a stunning car! Inspections are encouraged and phone calls are welcome Steve Fisher 206-755-3420
