Up for auction with a very low reserve is my '87 Audi 5000. The car has very little corrosion or rust, and was maintained by an Audi mechanic. It runs and drives, and I would drive it to Portland with no worries. However, this is a car that has seen some miles and it shows. Here's what I know to be wrong with it:Needs new suspension front and rearRear brake lines have seen better daysThe door handles (infamous for breaking) all work, but none are matched to the same key. Basically, the car is unlockableOne headlight is outThe shift linkage is loose. It's one small ball and socket piece that is cracked. I had my mechanic put it together with Loc-Tite and it's holding fine, but should be replaced eventually.Tires are a little dry-rotted.A/C hasn't worked for some time...No idea if it's a compressor issue or if it just needs to be charged.Alternator belt squeals some at start-up. That's about it. Like I said, I've driven the car daily without problems. If you're looking for a restoration/modification project, I think this would be a good candidate. I will also include 5 extra original wheels that came with the car when I purchased it last year. There are no oil/fluid leaks, the windows all work, the turbo boosts well, the AWD system works perfectly. Winning bidder needs to arrange pickup/delivery of the car.
