Vehicle Detail
I want to say thank you for looking at my auction to start with. My name Is Bud and I'm 46 years old and was born and raised in S Calif. These cars hold a certain fondness for me. In the summer of 1982 I would be the proud owner of a car very much like the one I'm putting up for Auction. I just sold my 73 on here a couple of months ago and you are more then welcome to look at my feedback on it. Strangely enough it went back to California and the new owner is very happy with it. I have been hesitant of selling this one. This car has never been restored and it is in better shape then most that have. I found this car in the wine country just outside of Portland and I bought it from the second owner. They were very kind and told me everything they new about the car. We shook hands and parted ways. I looked at the fuel gauge and realized I was not going to make it home on what was showing in the tank (168 miles) My wife pulled into the service station ahead of me and as I exited the car I noticed people starting to gathering around the car. If your not wanting attention this car is not for you. I purchased my fuel and walked back out to the car and this older couple approached me and introduced them selves as the original owners . I was shocked considering they had sold the car in California to people they did not know. To verify their story I would pull the original owners manual and maintenance guide out and behold his name was on the cover. They were here visiting grandchildren. I pull forward and we parked there for awhile as they reminisced about the precious memories they had and how they were surprised the car had not changed much.( The original radio still in the car and works.) They asked if I had been given the original a/c unit for the car and I assured them I had. They removed it because they only drove it with the top off so they felt no need for it. I had to laugh because they said it cost money to run it. They purchased the car from Neufeild Porche & Audi in Carlos Calif in September of 1972. The service stamps in the manual verify they had all major and minor services done there for the first 25k miles. Then they moved to Hermosa and local shop took car of it till the time they sold it in 1999. Much more to the story, but I better move on. Lets leave it at Karma has her way with things. Now more about the car. The engine runs wonderful and the fuel injection performs as it should .It does not smoke or leak. No diapers needed;Compression is 160-165. The transmission is solid and does not leak the shifting is a little sloppy but all gears are present. I would recommend going to the 73 and newer style short shift linkage. The electrical is perfect. Everything works and has never been tampered with. All lights, horn blower motor, radio function as they should. A new electrical fuel pump was installed by previous owner. The suspension is solid with koni coil overs in the rear giving the car a smooth ride. The brakes as well the E-brake function as they should and the pads have about 70% left on them. The tires are in good shape with 90% in the back and about 80% in the front. The glass is original and in good shape. The front windshield has a small chip that has been repaired with a life time warranty. Their is a small wiper burn on it but it is not deep and can be buffed out. The hell whole area has been addressed and repaired with a new batter tray in place. The pan is solid with no rust noticeable. The springs and latches on all 3 lids are in excellent shape. The car interior is a solid 8 with signs of wear on the original carpet. The dash, seats and door panels look good. The body is nice I would say.The trunk has some light surface rust in the back but has been sanded and treated. The car was repainted back to its original Saturn-yellow L-13 color about 10 yrs ago and the paint still has a nice shine. Now I drove all around the yard trying to get the correct angle on it to show the dings in the car from sitting in the shop over the last 10 yrs and I had very little luck, but I want the new owner to be aware of them. They are small and can be removed by any body shop who does hail repair. No need to repaint the car. I have a guy who does it here but he is booked till the end of September and it generally runs me about 250.00. Both bumpers the same thing. I can see them but I can not seem to get them to show to well. The car is beautiful and runs and sounds great. I have the original a/c unit , owners/service manual for it as well. This car is worthy of its name and a wonderful example of pride of ownership. Please feel free to call or txt with any questions you may have. 541 378 8807. I do reserve the right to end the auction early as I do have it listed locally. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I will help in any way possible.
